From Windows method
1. In Windows, hold the "Shift" key while you press Restart from the Start Menu.
2. After restart, the Advanced Startup menu options will appear. Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > press Restart.
3. Select 5 for "Safe Mode with Networking". If you don't want internet or network access in Safe Mode, select 4.
