    I have a problem on Win 7 x64, latest drivers 1.72. Card Xonar D1.
problem in the line in, for example connect the player and sound after a while begins to distort the sound dramatically changes the sampling rate, then normal and so every time a similar problem with the microphone during a call, the same thing happens. settings all worth the same sampling rate. what is the problem and how to solve?

Did you had this problem before with previous drivers? Which panel configuration are you using? Maybe you should uninstall and install the drivers again. Is problem persists it could be a issue with the 1.72 drivers.

The problem was with the previous drivers. Panel Xonar Audio Center. Uninstall and reinstall the problem was not solved.

Just installed the latest drivers for Windows 8.1 64 and windows disabled them because they don't have a digital signature. Do I need to enable test most and bypass the digital signature check for the latest drivers to work? Didn't have to for the older drivers.

No, they should work without test mode. Try installing them with following the instructions possible solutions from here.

    Hi,
i just upgrade my PC, and reinstall the O.S. (Windows 7 Ultimate x64) and drivers. First i used the Asus drivers (Xonar Essense STX), and realised that the dolby digital live (SPDIF) didn't work very well.
The positional sound and sorround were very poor and the mixer didn't work, so i decide to use your drivers. And i can tell they are AWESOME, now i can really hear where the sound is coming (FPS) and the mixer works.
    Thanks for an awesome work.

My config is SPDIF, Dolby Digital Live, 8 speakers (dolby headphones).

I installed the latest 1.72 on Win 8.1 x64 normally without the Test mode (I have an Essence ST) and didn't have any problem related to digital signature. Hows that other people do have such problem? Am I just lucky or what?

In fact, only a small percentage of the total amount of people installing the drivers have that issue. I'm not exactly sure why this happens, could be a conflict between the driver installer (made by C-media) and something else on their PCs.

I found that if you install it normally (leaving Digital Signature Bypass unchecked), the driver will work just fine. If you install it with Digital Signature Bypass checked, your driver will stop working once you reboot your computer, even if you install it in Test Mode.

I've verified this myself, and whatever you do, leave the Digital Signature Bypass unchecked.

Oh, you're right!!! I didn't remember that passage during the drivers installation...I must've left that unchecked for sure because I know that these drivers are not certified. Thanks, I'm sure this will be helpful for others too.

One thing, strange though that the new 1822 official drivers arenโ€™t available for the ST. Thereโ€™s simply no possibility of selection for 8.1 but just 8.

Regarding official driver availability, this is how it always was, Asus releasing new drivers only for one or a few cards. When Asus will finally release the 1822 drivers for ST, they will have the exact same files included with UNi Xonar drivers.

The new 1.72 drivers (Win 8.1 x64) cause the volume of my microphone to be extremely low so that it effectively can't be used anymore. Mic boost is enabled and input volume is at 100%. This issue wasn't present with 1.71.

It is low all the time or it goes low at one point? Are you using any particular application? What card do you have?
Just checked and I don't have this issue on Windows 7 and Skype. ATM I don't have a working copy of Windows 8.1 to test there too. Hopefully someone else could confirm or infirm this issue. Thanks for reporting this.

    Hello!

I have connected front panel header to my Xonar DX, but it's just not working. There is just Speakers and SPDIF Interface in Control Panel / Sounds, no Headphones...
If I select Headphone output in C-media Panel, it also doesn't play through front 3.5 jack. I was playing normally on front panel audio over motherboard when it was connected on it.

And the link for Front Panel Switch is not working under "Other apps"

To rule out drivers not working properly, you should try some other driver version and try to change to front panel from the Asus Audio Center as well. If still does not work, the problem is somewhere else, either a hardware malfunction or something wrong with the front panel connection.

Will fix the link soon. Thanks.

Since you have fixed the Front Panel Switch download link, I have tried running it, and it works normally. But it's only a switch, so I can't have skype on headphones and spdif / analog for music, like I used to have on onboard audio, which is a shame. But great work otherwise with drivers, guys at Asus should respect you. And I hope you get some credit for it ! ๐Ÿ™‚

If Front Panel works with FP Switch then it may be that C-Media Panel wasn't switching to Front Panel properly. Can you tell me which UNi Xonar drivers you had installed at that point?
          Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚

I'm using 1.72 now, and it works like charm. Any way of using both Front panel and Speakers ( playing different audio streams ) ?

I just discovered these drivers and installed them onto my PC. I've got an Asus P8Z77-V mobo with the latest drivers, an Asus Xonar DX with the new 1.72 drivers, and an Astro A50 wireless headset with the latest firmware. I don't have any speakers. Can someone help me maximize my audio quality? I don't know much about audio.

That helped somewhat, but I still have questions. My headset is a 7.1 headset. There are only two physical 50mm speakers, but it virtualizes the audio into surround sound. How many channels should I select in C-Media Panel and what DSP Effects should be enabled? I also assume I should select S/PDIF as my output mode because the headset transmitter is connected through a S/PDIF cable.

Finally I hv managed to run my new xonar dg in my pc. Thanks a lot! Great sound finally! Had trouble when installed it previously official drivers for win 7 64bit, "card not detected" or "device not detected". Great job you did, I was about to give up and send it to the seller.

Well to be honest, you can run into those issues with UNi Xonar as well. I've made a guide here just so you know.

    Hi!
First off, new to soundcards(read: literally no knowledge) and first time builder as well, have a ASUS Xonar DGX.
My sound seemed to be rather odd and these drivers seem to have fixed that, though I am not entirely certain, dumb as that may sound.
The sound still isn't exactly as how I personally want it, and I am trying to set it that way. I basically want it set the same way as my laptop's Beats Audio presets.
Picture of my Beats Audio for reference:
    http://i41.tinypic.com/244sj92.png
Notice the bass/def etc. sliders? Is it possible to know the equivalent of that in the ASUS Xonar DGX so I can try setting it the same way? This way I can at least confirm that it's not the settings and that something else is up, or enjoy a brilliant experience.
I have tried what I can, but I really don't know how to go about this in the end.
Alternatively, is it possible to set the ASUS Maximus VI Hero's SupremeFX the same as the above pic more easily? Don't want to have to discard my sound card, but if that's the only option... ๐Ÿ™
Or, is it possible to just download similar preset files for the Xonar DGX?

Could still use help here. I have started using my SupremeFX....and it actually sounds close/better than my laptop audio.
I don't know if I am doing something wrong, or if the Xonar DGX i have is faulty, but as far as I know I should have better sound with it, and yet my SupremeFX is better right now.
My SupremeFX/Beats Audio both have...I hope I am describing this right, powerful sounds and clear to boot. They are immersive as hell, and you can't really hear anything outside your headphones(due to surround I think, could be wrong). On The Xonar not matter what I try, it sounds very jarring compared to the former, there's no power to any of the notes, and is just...not enjoyable. I can definitely hear some new sounds though, but if there's something wrong with the majority, then it's just not worth it ๐Ÿ™
Is there any physical faults I can look for on the card itself to know if that's causing issues or something?
      Any guides, info?
Anything? I am at a complete loss here...

From your first comment I would say you've got accustomed to the enhanced sound of Beats Audio, because that's kinda what you are describing.
Now if SupremeFX sounds better that the Xonar DGX without any sound enhancements(like different equalizer settings, bass, etc.) then I would guess it could be a hardware problem with your DGX. Don't think there is nothing you can look for at the card itself.
Maybe this could help prove clarify things: If you have a loop cable, you can run RightMark Audio Analyzer tests and compare the results you get with the ones from reviews, results should be the about the same.
Here you have the results from a DGX review. Here you have the guide how to test with RMAA.
        You should also contact ASUS.

    Hi,
Sorry I posted this in the wrong place earlier instead of here:
I have a Xonar D2/PM pci card and have just installed the latest drivers from your website, low dpc latency setting. Although I still have issues with stutters inputting audio signals through spdif-in, i canโ€™t get my card to output a signal out of the spdif-out connector (coaxial_ to feed my dac convertor of my hifi. I am lost as this card is new to me. I use Windows 7 64 bit, and my motherboard is a Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3. Any help is greatly appreciated please. I hope there is a solution.

    Hello community
Thanks for everything. I have a small problem for you gurus to answer: I got a nice 30cm sub, and 1+1 stereo speakers. Everytime I want to activate the sub, I am switching to 5.1 mode and as you know it is not working well in games, I can't hear 'rear' sounds as I don't have rear speakers. Is there a way to config my Xonar DG card to LFE the sub, and keep 2 speaker stereo configuration (I mean is there a way to config setup 2.1) thanks.

      Hi
Maybe this will help: Guide for Win Vista/7/8. Enable stereo upmix. Select 2channels 4speakers in the panel. Connect speakers to front speakers jack, connect subwoofer to rear speakers jack. In FlexBass set "Large" which speakers you don't want affected by LFE Crossover Frequency.

Hi, my name is Andrea from Italy and I would like to report a strange behaviour of my system after installing Unixonar v. 1.72. My system is based on Windows 7 64bit, Xonar DX and the amplifier Pioneer A-70 which has a USB port and requires USB drivers to be seen as audio output.
After installing v 1.72, the soundcard Xonar DX works correctly but the USB drivers of Pioneer does not work anymore reporting error 52 (driver signature problem). I found that Pioneer drivers are based on C-MEDIA as well (PIONEERNAP.SYS). These drivers can be found here: http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/support/software/A-70-K/page.html .
Unixonar 1.71 r2 works correctly in connection with Pioneer USB drivers so I reinstalled that version.

I can provide further details or files if useful for debug.

Hi. Kind of strange because those files are totally different. Have you tried installing both USB drivers and 1.72 drivers at least one more time before switching back to 1.71?
If you haven't tried again, maybe you can give it another try. Additionally you can try to manually install 1.72 drivers only (without Asus/C-Media Panel) over 1.71 installation and see if that causes that issue again. Files and guide is here possible solution 1 (steps 1-8 only).

      • Andrea26 Jan 2014 @ 17:04

Hi! Yes I tried several time with 1.72 (install, remove, re-install) but after every reboot the Pioneer's driver stopped to work. As double check, I also tried the official Asus driver (latest version), same error.
I will try manually updating the driver files only. I keep you informed.
Thank you very much for the support and the great work in general.
