Hey I just wanted to thank you guys. I was experiencing frequent crashing of video games. These drivers fixed everything right up!
kENSHu12 Dec 2010 @ 21:36
damn i'm having a problem here.. i have a 5.1 set + Asus xonar hdav deluxe and i can't get any sound out of my 2 rear speakers. I have UNi Xonar 1.26 installed and tried different settings and also tried to change some of the input cables but that doesn't help..my os is win7 64 bit..Any idea how to fix this?
CarvedInside13 Dec 2010 @ 12:37
Sorry, uncompress sound currently doesn't work , you need to select DTS interactive mode or Dolby Digital Live.
When I have more time I will try to improve the drivers and make them fully support HDAV cards. Most likely I will let know by e-mail.
Suresh13 Dec 2010 @ 02:33
I have a Xonar HDAV, win 7 64 bit. I was excited to see these drivers installed them but have issues with it. When i use Xonar Control Center , I see an option to choose between spdif and hdmi I dont see that option here. I also tried using a SPDIF cable instead of HDMI and most of my speakers dont work except in the DTS interactive mode.
I am switching back to xonar drivers without options for now
CarvedInside13 Dec 2010 @ 12:37
See the answer below.
Suresh17 Dec 2010 @ 21:44
Thanks a ton for your reply I will wait for your drivers

Installed Uni 1.26 on my ST, but C-media panel after restart doesn't start. Any possible fix, or how to get to C-media panel?
CarvedInside13 Dec 2010 @ 23:51
Sorry to hear that, It seems its no longer an isolated issue, I will check and see what might be the cause. Can you tell me if C-Media Panel is working just after install?
You should try the Uni Xonar shortcut from Control Panel.
Bayilo13 Dec 2010 @ 21:17
I have never had any chance to get any of Mr. Carvedins' drivers to work in Xonar HDAV when processing or streaming uncompressed files. The most recent one is not working well either.
MO14 Dec 2010 @ 00:40
Yes, after install C-Media panel appears, but only for a few seconds, when it disappears. Uni Xonar shortcut isn't being created at all, tried to find it in installation directory, but there I found only OpenAL. Tried several times to unninstal + driver sweaper. In normal installation mode, directory is created normaly with driver's files and all other stuff. Sadly, no success with C-Media install mode.
Also I can mention, that I have problems with EAX 2.0 in Medieval II TW. Just decided to experiment with original Asus 1792 drivers + CmAux64 update. Can tell that distorted sound is less heard. almost gone. So, as another person mentioned, it would be very good if this Asus update could be implemented in Uni Xonar driver package.
Marc Bourgoin14 Dec 2010 @ 02:29
Heyyo,
Yeah that was me with the CmAux64 update.. trying it with the vista 64 beta drivers that came out before it and thus far it's mixed results.. Oblivion crashes still pretty quick, but not as fast as without the CmAux64 update.. Odd that they would create a patch that kinda helps and then not implement it in later drivers, rofl. 😛
CarvedInside14 Dec 2010 @ 12:54
Yes thats pretty much crazy. 😐
As I said before most likely cmaux64 replaces some files, which are older that the ones in the latest driver release, so this might fix some things but have other problems.
Quick question, why do you keep the GX enabled if it constantly crashes, does it make such a difference in sound stage?
CarvedInside14 Dec 2010 @ 13:02
Weird thing. This isn't happening to me on Win7, when I did the testing. I will later check things again.
If I am not mistaken you can apply the CmAux64 patch to uni xonar drivers as well.
Marc Bourgoin14 Dec 2010 @ 17:56
Heyyo,
Well the main reason is for EAX. Makes the games sound cooler and it does give a framerate boost in most games too. If I didn't care about EAX or the framerate boost I wouldn't have even bothered with a soundcard and just used the onboard RealTek.
Marc Bourgoin14 Dec 2010 @ 06:10
Heyyo,
OMFG carvedinside! I found a solution instead of rebooting to get the stuck sound to stop doing it.. if I uninstall the drivers from control pannel and then reinstall? works fine without reboot.. so if you could make an automated driver uninstall and reinstall that would prevent at least rebooting.
CarvedInside14 Dec 2010 @ 12:50
Great to hear that. Unfortunately I don't know if I can help you with an automated driver reinstall because its trickier. Of course if something comes up I will surely let you know.
Mr Blah14 Dec 2010 @ 07:30
Hi,
Is there something wrong with the download?
I keep getting error and the file size is 0mb rather than the correct size.
CarvedInside14 Dec 2010 @ 11:11
Download link is fine.
Just checked it does work. Try with another browser or try to dl from the mirror.
Marc Bourgoin14 Dec 2010 @ 17:57
Heyyo, Yeah just delete your temp browsing files bro, should let ya redownload.
Mr Blah14 Dec 2010 @ 20:34
Hi again,
thanks for replying.
I tried different browser and deleting temp browsing files.
Yet it still would not let me download.
It just hang at 0bytes for the download and the file is 0.
Are there any other file hosting site that you can put up as an alternative to that one?
I am from Canada and it might not work with that hosting site.
Thanks!
CarvedInside14 Dec 2010 @ 20:47
you have 2 dl links one main, and one mirror.
Mr Blah15 Dec 2010 @ 18:14
Oh great.
The main one works now.
Thanks!
That was just weird. Freak of nature.
Thank you!
freestyler15 Dec 2010 @ 20:25
Btw x-meridian 2g is officially out now, so drivers should be up soon. (some people may have them from cd)
CarvedInside15 Dec 2010 @ 22:05
Thanks for pointing that out. I saw it to and I am constantly searching the net & auzentech page, but no sign of them :((
Ludvink17 Dec 2010 @ 02:36
Hey man!
Im at a loss of words.. ive been mailing and giving asus feedback on what was wrong with their drivers, i used their own feedback feature and i was met like a customer who didnt know his ass from his ears. Trying to convince me that it was my incompetence rather than it was something wrong with their drivers.
But back on topic, once i got these working.. im not sure if im imagining it. but it feels like a whole another sound.. things are.. crispish. hope its your work and not my tired mind 🙂
Keep it up!
CarvedInside17 Dec 2010 @ 11:10
Thanks for sharing your experience. What you are saying, is another proof of ASUS persistent incompetence.
I must say that my changes weren't targeted at sound quality, but maybe you & others are not imagining things and as a side effect , my drivers also offer a greater sound quality.
CarvedInside17 Dec 2010 @ 11:14
@MO & others - regarding C-Media Startup
I did check the driver again, and the C-Media Audio Panel starts & works after driver installation, but it won't autostart when you restart.
Something must have gone wrong, I will try to fix this as soon as possible.
Note that for me it works to start it from Control Panel - >Uni Xonar Audio
MO17 Dec 2010 @ 21:09
What subfolders do you find in Uni Xonar Audio installation folder?
CarvedInside17 Dec 2010 @ 23:30
Only OpenAL. The audio panel is stored in WindowsSystem32CmiCnfgP.cpl
Daniel17 Dec 2010 @ 23:33
Is there any way to control volume while using ASIO? It's always max, so I can't use my headphones 🙁
Najaz18 Dec 2010 @ 19:39
Use foobar2000. Volume adjustment is possible even when using ASIO output.
CarvedInside18 Dec 2010 @ 21:08
Asio Bit perfect bypasses windows volume control. If your application doesn't support volume control for asio, you need to install ASIO 4 ALL and switch to it, or apply asio patch.
