unfortunately, still got driver unsigned problem with new 1.27 😛
seekdestroy22 Dec 2010 @ 14:54
BTW, i signed these driver files, then it worked.
C:windowssystem32cmudaxp.sys
C:windowssystem64CmiFltr.dll
C:windowssystemCmiFltr.dll
And a restart, then drivers work! But still my drivers are stuck on the front panel or something, no sound. Can't get it to change to pack panel.
Virus22 Dec 2010 @ 15:05
Font Panel Switcher will work always because registry settings should be always changed, even if automatic card restart not work, restart it manually or restart system.
Settings are : HKLMSYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlClass{4D36E96C-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}xxxxSettings
where xxxx is a card number in system
Value PanelConfig should be 0 to disable front panel.
seekdestroy22 Dec 2010 @ 15:30
Well It's not working for me, I've checked and it changed the registry settings properly, but it doesn't do anything. I've tried doing it manually, tried disabling/re-enabling sound card, still no sound from back panel sockets.
I might just have to use official drivers 🙁
foudelou22 Dec 2010 @ 15:49
Still not working either with 1.27 .. 🙁 Though this time I thought it would work cause the install did take longer. But still after reboot no trace of install except in the program manager where I can find "Uni xonar audio driver", no audio panel, no playback device detected at all .. nothing in the programs either except an empty "ASUS xonar audio"
MO22 Dec 2010 @ 15:56
Well done CarvedIns, with 1.27 version C-Media panel starts w/o problems:)
MO22 Dec 2010 @ 16:14
But now another problem appears: enabling Xear 3D EX, Medieval II doesn't recognize EAX 2.0 capable sound card.
CarvedInside22 Dec 2010 @ 16:44
Try with C-media GX version.
seekdestroy22 Dec 2010 @ 16:02
After some messing with the registry, i can confirm your FP switcher does change the correct setting for PanelConfig, however It's not working, Disabling (0) PanelConfig, does not enable the rear panel. For some reason the FP has been set to default.
seekdestroy22 Dec 2010 @ 19:05
Just to confirm, and help you with the windows 7 signed driver fault. It is just the C:windowssystem32driverscmudaxp.sys file that causes it.
Marc Bourgoin22 Dec 2010 @ 19:10
Heyyo, Bro just do the Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider: http://www.ngohq.com/home.php?page=dseo
Get that, and enable test mode, and then you can follow the stuff for getting rid of the water mark test mode that will appear in the corner of the screen.. and then you can run the drivers without issues. I myself am not in test mode and the drivers work flawlessly but apparently your Windows 7 install is picky. Btw, out of curiosity.. you running an antivirus? if so which? have you tried disabling it during install of these drivers?
seekdestroy22 Dec 2010 @ 19:16
Hey, I know, once i sign it using that DSEO tool it is fine. I've enabled test mode like 10 times, doesn't wana work. My install must be picky, lol.
AVG and no. Atm I'm not worried about the driver signature problem. The fact that the rear output doesn't work at all when using these drivers.
It's a shame, I've gone back to official drivers, as these actually output and let me switch to FP properly. For some reason virus's fix isn't working for me 🙁
Virus22 Dec 2010 @ 21:04
This was not fix, it was switcher, default is always rear panel.
Maybe driver do not really work for you card ?
seekdestroy22 Dec 2010 @ 21:47
Hmmm, yeah. the last unified driver i had was 1.20 and that worked fine, 1.26, 1.27 don't :s
TheXtremeKing23 Dec 2010 @ 21:50
Same problem here as "seekdestroy". The driver wasn't working because parts weren't signed by windows. But I did the: Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider, and now it's up and running.
I also tested the DPC latency and here are my results:
-latest asus drivers around 240-280us
-your 1.27 version also around 240-280us
-if I turn my digital output from dolby digital live to PCM the rates are 110-140us
I've the idea that music sounds now much better in DDL. With the asus drivers I always had to adjust the equaliser to get some descent enough sound when listening to music, but still it just didn't sound right. What I heared now with your drivers sounded right from the beginning.
Thnx for your efforts
CarvedInside24 Dec 2010 @ 13:58
The latency won't change with the normal version. Try the Low DPC lantecy or C-Media Audio Panel.
estranged25 Dec 2010 @ 00:28
version 1.27 doesn't work. It takes ages to install and in the end it says "please plugin your uni xonar" 1.26 worked fine.
CarvedInside25 Dec 2010 @ 20:17
What card and OS do you have? Have you tried a driver clean before installing?
estranged26 Dec 2010 @ 16:31
I have Xonar D2/PM. I uninstalled the old driver. Restarted the pc. Installed the new driver. Always do this way and never had problems.
CarvedInside27 Dec 2010 @ 15:58
and your OS?
MO26 Dec 2010 @ 12:58
CarvedIns, you are claiming that normal version of Xonar Unified drivers is identical to the found 1792 in Asus.com. But why the sound production and overall sound quality a little bit differs?
rankena26 Dec 2010 @ 14:40
which is better for you?
MO27 Dec 2010 @ 15:12

which is better for you?
It's hard to tell. Using Uni drivers I can hear that my S750 sub is a little bit tighter compared to original drivers, on which it feels to be more softer. Mid tones reproduction also differs: using original drivers I hear like an echo (of course it's not a real echo), you know it's hard to explain, you must hear yourself:)
CarvedInside28 Dec 2010 @ 14:38
As I previously said, I didn't make any other changes that could change sound quality. But because of some changes, indirectly sound could be better on 5.1 surrounds systems.
I did a RMAA tests between original drivers and UNi Xonar different versions, and the results were exactly the same. If you have a Jack to Jack cable you can do the tests yourself.
But regarding the bass, there could be a possible change in "quality". There is a registry setting called "BassBasedBLevel", which sometimes changes between driver installations, and from what I noticed it may be different with C-Media version. I didn't managed to change it , its not working like other settings. So I couldn't notice if it makes a difference.
My suggestion is to check and see if "BassBasedBLevel" value is different from original driver compared to Uni Xonar driver in your case.
Thuneau Jan27 Dec 2010 @ 05:11
This driver is definitely better than the stock.
I used to have multi client capability in XP with Xonar D2, I moved it to Windows 7 machine and found that it doesn't work.
Do you think you could look into making this driver multi client again?
I need to be able to see the record mixer from the ASIO driver and have two programs use the card simultaneously either both through ASIO, or one through ASIO and one through direct sound or kernel streaming.
Kernel Streaming from Foobar to Xonar and from Xonar to Thuneau Allocator through Asio4All kind of works, but it's not stable. You have to be really careful about the right order of things.
Do you think you could at least expose the Record mixer to the native ASIO driver?
CarvedInside27 Dec 2010 @ 15:58
Thank you (again) for your kind gesture.
First, regarding the problem you are mentioning, have you tried applying ASIO 1.0 patch when installing? Its not the perfect solution but I am curios to see if it works. I think your problem is from the new ASIO bit-perfect, and that might be a problem in terms of "unlocking".
To fully understand the problem, I might have to try and check the issue for myself. So maybe you should write me a quick guide on how to check it.
Thuneau Jan27 Dec 2010 @ 17:20
During installation of XUD 1.27 I had the ASIO patch checked. Maybe I should try installing again with it unchecked? I just found your website so I'm not really familiar with the history of your Xonar driver and its intricacies.
Later today I will send you a license for one of my crossovers with description of what I'm looking to accomplish. Maybe you can figure out how to make it work smoothly. I'll gladly donate again.
CarvedInside27 Dec 2010 @ 18:54
If you checked the ASIO patch during installation, then you have it installed. But just to make sure, do another install with it checked. The asio (bit-perfect) that is installed by default with the drivers is sound exclusive, so no other sound is heard except the one from the one in asio stream, so this is why I was assuming that this might be the problem. The "patch" reverts to the old asio, which is similiar to ASIO 4 ALL.

I appreciated everything you are trying to do with this driver, keep it up!
However, I can't seem to figure out how to get HDMI output working on my HDAV 1.3. Is it unsupported? Or am I doing something wrong..
Thanks
CarvedInside28 Dec 2010 @ 00:59
For now, uncompressed output doesn't work with HDAV, for it to work you need to select DTS interactive mode or Dolby Digital Live.
