Hey brainbit, thanks for your work on these. I have a question regarding dpc. I used yours for 3-4 day or so and have a dpc of around 47 microseconds. when win 7 64x is idlin with your driver (I just clicked low dpc and had nothing else selected during install). Now I installed asus own 1793, and have slightly lower. Can you explain this?
CarvedInside17 Feb 2011 @ 03:30
Yes, its fairly simple. In this case you need to check the dpc latency while playing a music or watching a movie, meaning you need to utilize the soundcard. Do this with both the original and 1.30 uni driver.
Just so you know, DPC in idle and even in load its influenced by a number o things, one particular thing would be network activity.
Conditioned17 Feb 2011 @ 08:11
Ok I´ll check it.
Ps. I dont 'need' to check it but gaming is nicer the lower the dpc 🙂

Hey Carved! Did you see the last post by Tian over at Asus forums? I couldn't help myself with the insolence behind that - I didn't mention you by nick, but I guess everyone interested knows who you are and what you do to help us all.

Yeah I saw that. I am planning a response but it won't be so friendly. What their clamming there is preposterous and it basically no only me and my work, but anyone that bought a Xonar card.
Its good that you and others replied to that thread, its time to strike back and make this backfire!
piton17 Feb 2011 @ 19:39
this happens to me if not check ASIO 1.0, but when checked in win7_64 driver signature fails, but i found solution ReadyDriverPlus 1.2 and now its OK no delays.

I finally got around to trying to install these drivers on Win7 x64 for my Xonar DX. Even after using Driver Sweeper and the Win7 alt install package I'm getting the following error in the Device Manager:
Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)

I have installed v1.30 but i still have pops clicks..I tried all 3 editions (normal, low latency, c-media) and i tried to increase (asio) latency and tried bit-depth 16 24 32 bit but nothing...So i used asio 1 patch ("only" 24 bits not bitperfect) with the c-media version and it works flawlessly. My specs: Asus D2X,win7 32bit ultimate, foobar2000 with asio plugin. I always uninstall the driver run driver sweeper &ccleaner and restart before i upgrade
CarvedInside21 Feb 2011 @ 00:16
regarding asio 2.0, maybe you need to increase the latency to 30 ms or more .. Have you tried this?
redgoo19 Feb 2011 @ 03:45
I also can not get these to install no matter what with the same device manager message. The funny thing is, is that I did have it installed, (and prior versions) with no problem on my months old Windows 7 x64 Ultimate install that I had Windows 7 SP1 installed on the OS image form a few weeks ago.
But as soon as I just did a clean install of the Windows 7 SP1 integrated ISO from technet, I can not get it to install without it complaining. Tried all the methods, no go.
I don't understand why I could install it in my prior OS image, and now can not. Had to just install the Asus package with the signed drivers - sadly without the C Media CP.

I have C-media panel with GX enabled. Today I bought first Kane & Lynch from Steam sale but there is strong static sound in the game using your newest drivers when openal is enabled. Directsound works fine but I think I miss some positional audio with it. Any fix? Might be that the game is buggy though.
CarvedInside20 Feb 2011 @ 17:48
No, sorry can't help you with this.:(
redgoo20 Feb 2011 @ 23:22
Figured out how to install these finally.
Tried this way with the test builds you put out, but even works for me with your original 1.30 installer. Wasn't any difference in the test builds for me normally.
What I did was uncheck the ASIO 1.0 Patch.
So I just checked C-Media Panel - Silent installation - Enable Stereo upmix to 4, 5.1 & 7.1. Left out the ASIO 1.0 Patch this time like I always had checked.
Finally install all the way with all drivers signed. Then I even went back and reinstalled over it with the ASIO 1.0 Patch checked this time, and it still installed fine. Everything seems to be OK now. Don't know why it loads with all the drivers signed that way, and not the other way, but it does.
CarvedInside21 Feb 2011 @ 00:15
Interesting thanks for sharing this, there is someone else that said that he got the error only with ASIO 1.0 Patch. Lets see if others can confirm this or not. Anyway I think the installation errors had different causes (yours was the asio patch)
Seven21 Feb 2011 @ 22:06
I confirm that when installing without asio 1.0 it works.
I had the signature problem since 1.28.
Otherwrise i tryed the test build and still had the signature problem.
Thanks to redgoo for this find and ofc thanks to Carvedinside for all the work done and this driver working well.
CarvedInside21 Feb 2011 @ 22:34
The weird thing is that some time ago I sent some test builds (v1.28) and those were only normal version & without the Asio 1.0 Patch and they didn't work. Maybe thats people had installation problems for different reasons and there wasn't only one.
bla.blub21 Feb 2011 @ 03:00
Hi,
Installed the driver on a fresh win7 64bit (sp1) and everthing worked flawless.
i never used the original driver but i really love the sound compared to the old onboard 🙂
thx for all your work
nefilim21 Feb 2011 @ 12:12
Success!!! I uninstalled everything, cleaned etc.. Reinstalled with (default) asio v2 c-media panel, asio4all 2.10 and with foobar2000 i now enjoy the best sound i ever had with my D2X (asio4all -config panel- D2X settings: Out: 8x 0.1-192kHz, 32Bits. Latency compensation to 0 samples (in and out). Tick hardware buffer and set the offset to 0 ms and change the ASIO Buffer Size to the smallest -64 Samples). So the problem with asio v2 must had been the foobar asio plugin . Carved thank you soooo much, you're the best 🙂

Hi there. I installed the 1.30 drivers without a hitch, but now I notice my right front speaker is much softer than the rest. Can anyone shed some light on this?
Win 7 Pro 64-bit, Xonar D1
CarvedInside22 Feb 2011 @ 21:34
Hi, I didn't notice anything different. by softer you min quieter or?Try to uninstall and reinstall the drivers again and see if the problem is still there, just to be sure you should check with the previous version (1.26 and not 1.28).
JoeBar23 Feb 2011 @ 14:08
Hi! I just ordered a DX after so many years without dedicated soundcard (last was original X-Fi, but ditched it for onboard due to numerous probs) and found out about your work. I appreciate your effort and will try your drivers out without even installing original Asus ones to check... 🙂
For Win7x64 the best option is to install C-Media panel (GX enabled)option and Enable stereo upmix (personal preference)?
CarvedInside23 Feb 2011 @ 18:19
You should check the labor of Asus's persistent perfection...or not:)
Yes, the best option would be C-Media(&GX for EAX emulation), and if you miss some options you can also launch Asus Control Panel. Most people including me , don't like Stereo Upmix, but if you like it, you should also check it.
Set them to 5.1 and configure them after this picture.
JoeBar23 Feb 2011 @ 23:16
Thanks for the reply! What options will i miss from Asus control panel? Is it installed when choosing C-Media panel or u have to reinstall your driver in Normal mode to have both panels?
JoeBar23 Feb 2011 @ 14:41
BTW should i set the speakers as 7.1 or 5.1 on control panel with the latest 1.30 drivers? I have Logitech Z-5500 5.1 speakers. Thanks!
Steve23 Feb 2011 @ 14:42
Hi, in case this helps anyone else...
I could not install these drivers no matter what I tried, it would always hang and ask me to plug in my Xonar device. I also got this error frequently with Asus's drivers. I am able to install in safe mode with no problems at all. Not had them installed long but will feedback soon.
Running W7 64, Xonar Xense

I'd just like to add please add support for the new Windows 7 Service Pack 1 released recently. This driver as well as the original ones made by Asus don't work with the new Service Pack 1 (x64) for me.
CarvedInside23 Feb 2011 @ 18:23
It works with Win7x64 SP1, I have that installed. You might be getting the error maybe if you checked Asio 1.0 Patch or from another reason.Have you uninstalled and used Driver sweeper before installing the new drivers? Have you tried the test builds(especialy b3)?
Tell me the error you get when installing.
Kevin F23 Feb 2011 @ 20:44
it says its not a signed driver. let me try again. In both the original 7600 build and 7601 (SP1) build.
