I've installed 1790 Driver with C-Media and ASUS CP but in the info still appear 7.12.8.1788...
Tricia30 Aug 2010 @ 14:42
Update: I have solved the ASIO "not found" problem, in case anybody wondered. I just copied the dll files from the Uni folder to the Asus folder and hey presto. Obvious really. In my program, although the programs asio drivers and asio4free sounded awful on playback, the asus ones didn't after I'd installed this driver.
Again -THANK YOU!!!!!
CarvedInside30 Aug 2010 @ 21:00
Sorry for getting to you so late. Copying dll was not a bad idea in this case. Still I would recommend trying what I wrote here at 2. ASIO doesn’t work with some applications and it worked with the original drivers.
For the quality part maybe you should use ASIO 1.0 Patch A. The guide is in this page, but a short way to do is run the batch file corresponding to your operating system.

1790 Driver is FAKE!!! Its 1788.
CarvedInside30 Aug 2010 @ 20:42
No its not. I used cmudaxp.sys & cmudaxp64.sys from 1788 for ASIO compatibility. But that obliviously didn't worked, at least for XP. Check the other files so you can see there are newer.
[Later Edit]
In fact, it appears as 1788 because I didn’t edit the ini files for all specific Xonars.
rankena31 Aug 2010 @ 06:08
In device manager its show as 1788.Now good news.If its true 1790,with C-media and patched ASIO perfect work on my system XpSp3 D2.Not bad in this moment 😉
CarvedInside31 Aug 2010 @ 13:01
Playing through ASIO works to you?
rankena31 Aug 2010 @ 13:14
Yes!!!Patched ASIO.
And i heared little quality improvement.Of course, it can be PLACEBO.
I use only 44.1,setting with your Xp 44.1 BAT file.

I need some help.
What exactly are the install procedures?
I'm asking this because I haven't gotten ASIO to work with any of your drivers in Win 7 x64 with my Xonar DX.
After every install, I reboot, run the ASIO patch, reboot and it still won't work.
Am I doing something wrong?
What are the pros and cons of normal, low dpc and C-Media Audio Center b2 builds?
Which one do you recommend?
CarvedInside01 Sep 2010 @ 05:18
Look and follow the instructions at 1 and 2 from this guide.
Don't think you are doing something wrong. Most probably some old config files remain or something.
Short answer install C-Media Audio Center b2 if you don't use the GX option.
rankena01 Sep 2010 @ 07:23
C-Media Audio Center b2.Where i can find it?
CarvedInside01 Sep 2010 @ 10:32
in the archive with UNi Xonar 1790 v1.11
Rigel01 Sep 2010 @ 13:41
Hi,
I use W7x64 and a Xonar Essence ST, just wanted to say that on the latest UNi 1790 1.11 the start menu folder and the link to the Asus Audio Center after the drivers installation are messed up (broken link, no icon--it's like a ghost link)
thanks and keep up the good work.
p.s.
which driver would you suggest anyway for my card and OS?
rankena01 Sep 2010 @ 15:40
You should make correctly all files names.Difficult to understand, what is the name,b1 or b2 or any other.
RoboPuG02 Sep 2010 @ 07:34
I'm seriously mad right now.
I can't install any of your drivers for my Xonar DX. With Asus drivers I get those clicks during the install and it installs fine. With any of your drivers I don't get those clicks and I get no sound.
I've tried all versions of 1788 & 1790(normal, low dpc & c-media), tried disabling Comodo firewall, ALL startup apps, run ccleaner before AND after uninstall but nothing works.
Does anyone have ANY idea what the hell is going on?
rankena02 Sep 2010 @ 10:42
Install Window$ before defragment HDD.
rankena02 Sep 2010 @ 16:39
I install 1790c-media on 8 different hardware with different M$OS.All systems work great!Thank you CarvedIns!Keep it up!

This command line application has been created by a Media Portal developer to keep information about new audio renderer for that open source Media Center and the capability of audio card and its driver with wasapi exclusive mode event driven Api allowed by Windows Vista and Windows 7 .
Someone can test xonar cars like my own one DX with the unified driver because seems the last official Asus drivers not support very well wasapi . most of format are rejected.
thanks a lot.

Greetings!
I had UNi Xonar 1788 1.01 driver installed and it worked great. Thanks for that! But yesterday I tried to test the latest UNi Xonar 1790 1.11 with C-Media Audio Center.
I uninstalled previous driver, rebooted, installed the new package and rebooted again. Windows started normally and sound was working, but I had no C-Media audio control panel launched, nor original Asus Xonar Audio Center. I looked through the Uni Xonar folder in Program Files and launched the .exe file of Xonar Audio Center there manually. It launched, showed some strange errors - several "HATA: Region Unload" - a Xonar icon appeared in taskbar, but still the Audio Center did not open. And it didn't open when I click on the icon in taskbar.
After several retries - I installed UNi Xonar 1790 1.11 normal driver (Asus Xonar Audio Center) and it works fine again. Could you please tell me whether I did something wrong? Or is it a glitch with C-Media Audio Center? Just want to try it out and see if the DPC latency really improves.
Config: Windows 7 x64, Asus Xonar DX, MSI 890FXA-GD70, Phenom II x6
CarvedInside13 Sep 2010 @ 13:31
Don't know. I didn't encouter any problem on Window 7 x64 with the C-Media Audio Center. Maybe you need to do a "proper" uninstall. Check this FAQ. Also do you have your Windows in another language?

to Reg5: How about WinXpSp3 ASIO with D2 card?
