You have access to Asus CP as well when installing drivers with C-Media Panel. Check Start->Programs->Uni Xonar Driver. But Asus Cp working in WIn8 is another issue. None of the CPs are “designed” to work with Windows versions beyond Win7. C-media CP works for you because of a glitch in properly detecting windows version.
I tried to run Asus CP in compatibility mode and it worked, Now everything is working in Windows 8 x64 except ASUS ASIO (it always gives me device in use error). ASIO4ALL works instead (but its working in exclusive mode). Asus CP is bit slow than how it performs in Windows 7 x86. it doesn't matter because every option on Asus Panel is now working without any issue.
One questions, is there any difference in terms quality between Asus ASIO and ASIO4ALL driver.
Thanks Again

Hi,
Im really thinking about getting a DSX or a DGX xonar. But i cant make a decision wich one, i would choose DSX cause the DTS , and DGX because the amp support, there is any chance that DSX also supports amp?? And this driver will work with the new ones too? I also use headphones and speakers too. So i dunno....
Well thanks.
CarvedInside19 Apr 2012 @ 21:04
DSX doesnt support AMP, even if its a slightly superior product that DGX. I can't give you an advice which to buy. UNi Xonar drivers will support DSX and DGX.

Hi, I landed here after some research for other drivers for Essence one. They're horrid, I sent them feedback, nothing gets done. Is the E1 going to be eventually supported by this release?
CarvedInside19 Apr 2012 @ 21:08
Sorry, Essence One most likely wont be supported with these drivers or a separated driver package. Mainly because of that the changes I made don't apply with Asus USB sound cards.
kiramayer17 Apr 2012 @ 13:33
Hi, great job you did here! It`s g ood to have people like you)
I`ve finally fixed the issue with 5.1 headset and really happy about it.
Is it possible for this drivers to get extended equalizer?
CarvedInside19 Apr 2012 @ 21:08
Its not possible.
Veiks9618 Apr 2012 @ 22:06
If the Asus ROG(Republic Of Gamers) Xonar Phoebus comes out, is it possible to get it's new Xonar Audio Center UI to every Xonar soundcard(Like my D1 😀 http://www.asus.com/Multimedia/Audio_Cards/ROG_Xo...
CarvedInside19 Apr 2012 @ 21:11
We will see. I think the ROG Xonar drivers will have a different architecture. Better not to get your hopes up.
Chriscom21 Apr 2012 @ 19:25
I am working on modifying the Asus Xonar AC skins. I am near at finishing this and releasing it. I will look into this new UI but ur link dont work.
Chriscom21 Apr 2012 @ 19:27
And as Carved said maybe new driver architecture and so a major no go.
R4yn0r19 Apr 2012 @ 05:14
Will these work with the Xonar U3? Unfortunately I can't use my DX anymore because my Graphics Card blocks my only PCI-E slot :/

MasterFaster19 Apr 2012 @ 17:35
For the Xonar DSX they released build 1800
ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/Audio_Card/Xonar_DSX/DSX_5_12_8_1800_XP.zip
ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/Audio_Card/Xonar_DSX/DSX_6_12_8_1800_Vista.zip
ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/Audio_Card/Xonar_DSX/DSX_7_12_8_1800_W7.zip
Maybe someone could modify them to work for all Xonar cards
CarvedInside19 Apr 2012 @ 18:46
New unified drivers are almost ready.
@all will try to answer previous questions as soon as possible
MasterFaster19 Apr 2012 @ 21:04
There is no need for test mode with Xonar DX. I posted my modded driver here (my post is waiting for validation) for Xonar DX. The driver installs ok without test mode under Win7 x64 and if you check dxdiag it says that it is WHQL'ed.
CarvedInside19 Apr 2012 @ 22:02
Your previous was marked as spam because of the links. Took me a while to figure it out.
Now regarding test mode. You are wrong. WHQL signature is different from driver signature. You can check the validity of the later by checking Digital Signer field of Xonar Card driver proprieties in Device Manager. The reason you can install the modded driver without testmode on has to do with your installation of Win7, I have the same problem, meaning I can install any drivers no matter if they have a valid signature or not (all this with test mode off). But if it where for you to install a original untouched Win7 kit you will probably bump into the same problems like others with installing unsigned drivers.
MasterFaster19 Apr 2012 @ 22:33
While installing the driver it didn't gave me any warnings.
I understand you what you said, indeed in device manager it says "Not digitally signed". I would like to know the reason why it installs in my Win7 without any notifications. Maybe it's the edition that I have. I will investigate this. Thanks for the info.
Patrick19 Apr 2012 @ 21:45
I just installed 1.60 drivers upgrading from 1.51 and the weirdest thing happend.
Upon restarting my computer I got a pop-up window with following message:
HATA (title) REGION UNLOAD (message).
Seems that everything is OK, but I wonder what this is, strange!
I have Windows 7 Home Premium (32-bit)
CarvedInside20 Apr 2012 @ 19:09
Which xonar card do you have? What options have you checked in the UNi Installer? Do you still get this error?
Thanks.
Patrick21 Apr 2012 @ 11:24
I have essence STX and I've installed the low latency drivers.
I haven't yet rebooted my comp so I don't know if the window pops up. But I'll check that later and write back

ASUS Xonar DX 7.12.8.1800 WHQL drivers modified by MasterFaster
5.12.8.1800 for Windows XP http://www.mirrorcreator.com/files/D1G3ZXQ3/PCI_D...
6.12.8.1800 for Windows Vista http://www.mirrorcreator.com/files/4CBW64W1/PCI_D...
7.12.8.1800 for Windows 7 http://www.mirrorcreator.com/files/0Z05HDLM/PCI_D...
TESTED/WORKING under Windows 7 x64
NOTE1: The Windows 7 driver installs ok (without test mode) under Windows 7 x64 and if you check dxdiag it says that it is WHQL’ed.
NOTE2: My modded driver for Windows 7 will probably work with Windows 8, but I haven't tested this. I don't have Windows 8 right now, nor plan to get them in the near future.
NOTE3: The Windows 7 pack was updated. Please re-download.
NOTE4: Windows XP and Vista drivers are not tested, but they should work.
Greets,
MasterFaster
DePhile20 Apr 2012 @ 00:44
All is working well here on my D2X Win 7 x64 in testmode with the 1.60's. Thanks as always Carved!

@DePhile, Sorry I was wrongly replied to your comment. The alternate link it should be a reply to my previous comment.
MasterFaster20 Apr 2012 @ 01:17
@CarvedIns, there is a possible explanation why we can install not digitally signed drivers:
You can establish a digital signature check for installed drivers by setting the Policy value in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftDriver Signing key. Selecting this box
reveals a list box with the following entries.
Policy Value = 0 Allows Installation of All Drivers
Policy Value = 1 Warn Installation of Non-Microsoft Signed Drivers.
Policy Value = 2 Block Installation of Non-Microsoft Signed Drivers.
Source: http://www.activewin.com/tips/reg/1/reg_tip_1.sht... http://forums.citrix.com/message.jspa?messageID=1...
I don't know if the above information is still valid for Windows 7
The following key exist in my Windows 7 x64 registry:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftDriver Signing]
"Policy"=hex:00
Do you have the same key?
MasterFaster20 Apr 2012 @ 10:44
Something that I forgot to mention: Local Security Policies control is available only in Windows 7 Professional/Ultimate/Enterprise. So this trick will not work for all users.
CarvedInside20 Apr 2012 @ 18:42
I have the same key and value in Win7. But it doesn't work, tried setting it to 2 and it didn't blocked the installation. I also checked in Win8 and its 00 also, but here I can't install drivers which aren't properly signed.
tympapost20 Apr 2012 @ 01:46
Is there any kind of change-log for this 1800 driver?
Any particular reason for us to update from 1.50 version??
MasterFaster20 Apr 2012 @ 13:51
Windows 8 compatibility is improved.
tympapost20 Apr 2012 @ 14:37
Damn... after all this time, all they did was improve the win8 compatibility?
so disapointed asus, so disapointed....
CarvedInside20 Apr 2012 @ 18:58
I'm not sure about it. Why do say this?
MasterFaster21 Apr 2012 @ 22:08
Maybe because it has new ASUS Xonar Audio Center:
Audio Driver Version: 7.12.8.1800
ASUS Xonar DX Audio Center: 0.3.0.41
GX: 1.0.12.106
ASIO: 2.0.0.10
CarvedInside20 Apr 2012 @ 18:49
No changelog. If it where I would have posted it. 🙂
onebyte20 Apr 2012 @ 03:35
Does the installation issue that arose with the 1800 drivers apply only to x64 users?
In other words, can x86 users install the 1.60 drivers normally, without using the testmode workaround?
Thanks
CarvedInside20 Apr 2012 @ 18:50
On x86 will work just fine without testmode.
