    Thanks for the latest drivers.

Some reason reason however, they take forever to install.

I have test mode enabled on Windows 7 x64, and am using the digital signature bypass (I have an Asus Xonar DG card).

Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙂

Just wanted to report 1.60 working perfectly without test mode and digital signature bypass option unchecked. Just love having the same card as Carved as it will definitely work on my PC if it works on his 😛

As qaz said few pages back, the thing that matters is if the .dll and .sys files of the driver are signed. And for this 1800 driver these files are signed. It doesn't matter if the .inf is modified, as long as the .dll and .sys files are signed. So both UNi Xonar 1.60 or my modified 1800 packs should install successfully in Vista/7 x64.

Is the 1800-driver also for the HDAV deluxe? And, if yes, is PAP still supported?

“Hata Region Unload” error fix, now not this problem. I don't know why, but I have a problem switching (headphone - 2speakers, 2speakers - headphone, not correctly working). UNi Xonar v1.53 all fine. I have to go back 1.53.

      Hello
Now i can confirm the Hata error is fixed but also i can confirm the Headphone switching problem..
The bug is like this: you switch from headphone to 2 speakers or vice versa and the sound is delivered on the same channel as was initially but with the processing of the second option..
Example: 2 speakers to headphones..If i select headphones the sound is still outputed through speakers but with headphone dbi option engaged..In my case my headphones work on 64dbi so to the sound delivered to the spekears it was aplied a 64dbi that was meant for headphone output..Also if you switch from spekears to headphones the same happens..The sound is still through headphones but with speakers processing applied...
A temporar workaround for this is like this:
Switch to what you want even if the output is throught the wrong output and restart PC.Now it should have switched correctly to what you desired...
Of course it may work by enable/disable the Sound card from device manager but didn't tried....
I will still keep this drivers in the hope of a quick fix....

I'm not using UNi Xonar 1.60, but I'm using my modded Xonar DX build 1800 driver in Win7 x64 and I don't have this problem. What card do you have? Maybe this build 1800 driver is not working correctly for all Xonar cards.

For the switching problem, try this driver build and report back pls.

If you have trouble with UNi Xonar v1.60 the try the below:

Here are modified build 1800 drivers for the Asus Xonar Essence ST and Asus Xonar Essence STX :

Modified Asus Xonar Essence ST driver v7.12.8.1800 for Windows 7 http://www.mirrorcreator.com/files/ZWFILB2Q/PCI_S...

Modified Asus Xonar Essence STX driver v7.12.8.1800 for Windows 7 http://www.mirrorcreator.com/files/1PJ1QJ3R/PCI_S...

These drivers should work exactly as the official build 1794 drivers work, they don't have UNi Xonar features and options. I just updated the official drivers with build 1800 driver files, like I did for the Asus Xonar DX drivers that I posted in previous page.

In my driver packs, before installation you could

copy (not move) the file WIN7CustomappVmixP8.dll

to WIN7SoftwareDriverdll and overwrite the old file

After that you should have the same VmixP8.dll file (ver. 1.0.0.19) in both locations:
        WIN7CustomappVmixP8.dll
        WIN7SoftwareDriverdllVmixP8.dll

How I created my modified driver:

I compared the driver files between DSX build 1800 win7 driver and DX build 1794 win7 driver. Here are what updates I have done to the 1794 Win7 driver to convert it to 1800 :

    Updated files:

    WIN7CustomappAsusAudioCenter.exe
    WIN7CustomappVmixP8.dll

Don't update WIN7CustomappMXmon.exe, the 1794 driver has newer version
I have also added some files from Skin and AppMode folders but that's not important (it has also a new STX skin)

    WIN7ProgramCmEnhance.dll

    WIN7SoftwareDriverdllcmasiop.dll
    WIN7SoftwareDriverdllcmasiopx.dll
    WIN7SoftwareDriverdllHsSrv.dll
    WIN7SoftwareDriverdllHsSrv64.dll

Don't update WIN7SoftwareDriverdllVMixP8.dll, the 1794 driver has newer version

    WIN7SoftwareDriverdriverCMUDAXP.CAT
    WIN7SoftwareDriverdrivercmudaxp.sys
    WIN7SoftwareDriverdriverCMUDAXP64.CAT
    WIN7SoftwareDriverdrivercmudaxp64.sys

in XonarDX.INF I have changed the DriverVer line to "DriverVer=12/20/2011,7.12.8.1800"
I haven't done any othe modifications to the inf

I have done similar changes for the other modded drivers. I basically used md5 checksums to compare which files were different, and then I checked these files one by one to see their version numbers and if they were really new.

      Small fix:
The file WIN7SoftwareDriverdllVMixP8.dll should be replace by the file WIN7CustomappVmixP8.dll (which is newer)

In both locations now it should be the newer (ver. 1.0.0.19) VMixP8.dll

Older DX and D2X cards problems come form a different cause. I am saying this regarding to that guru3d topic.

In your case it might be the card, try testing it in another PC, if it still makes these problems then RMA it.

Drivers will work if you don't encounter any problems while installing. There are some missing HDAV features but don't know if PAP will work with UNi drivers. Might want to try for yourself.

In all honesty I am not happy with my Asus Xonar D2. Its more than likely a driver problem and I am not pointing the blame at anybody , but the 5.1 upmix is not working unless I set audio channels to 2 and dolby pro logic or DTS Neo PC with analogue set to 5.1. I have the 5.1 upmix checked in driver install. Even with that unchecked I dont get stereo upmix in any of the drivers I have tried so far if I set the audio channels to 6 or 8. When I was using the onboard sound I was getting stereo upmix no problem.

I can understand you what you mean, but that's how the Xonar cards work in Windows Vista/7. It's a driver feature or limitation. For stereo upmix (or stereo surround or speaker fill or whatever they call it) you have to choose 2 audio channels. Else you have to use an environment setting.

Personally for stereo upmix I choose 2 audio channels and I disable the Dolby Pro Logic IIx (5.1 speakers configuration).

Next to the audio channels option there is question-mark, click on it to see what setting you should use for each occasion.

Its a hardware limitation according to Asus, I asked them as I personally think its stupid how you have to select 2 channel mode to use upmixing. I really hope they sort it out with newer cards.

They said that, but the driver works differently in Windows XP. I have dual boot so I know. From what I remember there is no audio channels option. You choose only the speakers (depends on what you have, 5.1 or 7.1) and the stereo upmix is working out of the box.

Uni 1.53 works 100%. Ver1.60 gets the Hata box message. Ver1.61 install 100% perfect but 0 sound from FP Headphones, and Back speakers. Ver1.601 same issue with Ver1.61. I am using Asus Xonar Essence STX.

This problem seems to be limited to ST/STX cards as I don't have the problem on my DX in Win 7 .
Here is a new build you guys can try. Previous build 1.61 should had been named 1.602, this is to avoid any confusion with a final build which would be 1.61

        ver1.603
Analog out: 2 speakers is now working
Analog out: FP Headphone is not working

        ver1.53 works for both.

suggestion take from the DSX 1800 driver the file
        WIN7CustomappVmixP8.dll

and copy it to WIN7SoftwareDriverdll of the UNi Xonar
if you haven't done it already

Both vmixP8 are the old ones from 1.50 driver. Might be something related to the actual audio driver files because in the 1.603 build I used only 1.50 Asus Audio Center files.

BTW thank you for your help:)
