    Hello everyone,

I was wondering whether functions such as Dolby Virtual Speaker & Dolby Headphone keep working even after I have closed the C-Media Panel and the Xonar Essence Panel (assuming I have activated them first).

Or do I have to keep one of the two always running on my task bar?

    Thanks, and great job!

1.60 driver installer seemed to stall out in Win7 x64. Had to switch to test mode (with signature bypass or whatever), and then it worked fine.

I've had trouble installing every single version of UNi Xonar, though, so this came as no surprise. Test mode is not a bother either, so I am happy.

      Thank you for the feedback.
When you will install a new version of the drivers, maybe you can try to install the drivers with Windows in safemode and with "digital bypass" option unchecked and report back if it worked or not. Thanks:)

Yes, I'll try to remember to do that on the next UNi release, or if I end up reinstalling the current version for some reason.

Thanks MasterFaster for the info, the time you and CarvedIns have dedicated to driver modification / creation / improvement is greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

Do they work with Claro Halo XT on Windows 7 x86 ?

    Thanks. 😉

They should work. In your case make sure you check "C-media Panel" in the installer. Please report back if it worked or not.

I don't know rather it was a windows 8 update that did it or me importing the Xonar STX settings Registry File into the reg. But my Asus Xonar panel fully works in windows 8 consumers preview. Before it didn't.

So those who control panel doesn't work you could try that if you have windows 7 dual booted to export the asus xonar registry settings.

Hello, the DGX came out (and other PCI-Express versions of the Xonar cards), will these drivers work on those cards? If not, are you planning to work on drivers for them? I've seen a couple mentions of issues such as not working alongside SLI, etc.

They won't work yet. Will try to add DGX/DSX compatibility over the weekend. I don't know what to say about issues with SLI, from what I know at least for older cards there wasn't such a problem.

Excelent driver source works on both x86,x64 platforms.
Any idea about a better asio support.
I`m used to run a buffer of 2048x2048 for vector optimum on recording.
Sill ill about running vst in 32bit,althought parallel processing makes it the way up
    faster,but never the less:don`t start a track with bassdrum:P.maxmsp omx5band~.
    Yep thanks again!!!

    Hello everyone!
I am using Foobar2000 with wasapi or kernel streaming, and an Asus Xonar D2 soundcard. When Foobar is running, any other browser sounds
are turned off. But when I close a page that contains/produces any sounds, i.e. I close a YouTube page, I get a very distinct
    pop in my speakers.

This goes for any browser I use. This problem manifests whenever I close a page that contains sounds, movies, or any flash
content. The problem does not occur if I use the classic windows mixer. Has anyone encountered this issue?

    Thank you!

    Hi,
I have problem with this drivers (and with others unixonar drivers too). I have Xonar Essence ST, Win7 Prof.x64 and when I want to switch output between RCA and FP Headphone nothing change, respectively after switched doesnt work any output. Only restart helps. Is possible that is only bug in this drivers? I tried to use all versions of these unixonar drivers and the same problem cames.
I dont know what I did wrong, but it doesnt work for me. Is any chance to fixed this "bug" in the future?

    Thanks a lot 🙂

I'm having trouble downloading the file from mediafire. It just refreshes back to the same screen every time. I have downloaded another file from mediafire without problems, so I know it's not my browser/antivirus. Any ideas? Is there an alternative download location?

Just checked, links are fine. Maybe it was a temporary malfunction. Please try again, and if you still can't I will send you the drivers over mail.

Are there any plans to mod the phoebus drivers for other Xonar cards?

I just wanted to leave a comment here thanking you for this amazing download. I was having very bad lockups causing my whole computer to freeze and the sound to loop. It was the official drivers that were causing this but I have not had any problems since using these drivers.

Thank you so much for this, you have no idea how disappointed I was when I thought I could no longer use my 200$ sound card on my new system. Asus really disappoints me that it takes someone else to fix it and not them.

Is there any fix for the FP Headphones to Speakers switching problem? Like, whenever I plug my headphones into my front panel the audio output switches to the front panel, which is fine, but when I want to use my speakers and unplug my headphones, the audio stays outputting to the front panel. I have to manually change it.

I can't find a fix for this, can anyone else?

The XP "Sample rate changer" utility is broken. It apparently tries to run "C:WindowsSystem32CmiCnfgp.dll" via rundll and this file does not exist. I'm unable to find any sign that this file even SHOULD exist. I've checked various drivers for the Xonar cards, C-Media drivers for unrelated chipsets, and the files from the Uni drivers themselves, and as far as I can determine this DLL file isn't even supposed to exist. I do find a CmiCnfgp.cpl (the configuration panel itself) in the installation files (oddly enough this wasn't in C:WindowsSystem32, so I tried copying it over and seeing if that would help but it didn't) but no DLL file. I'm using the version with the C-Media control panel, so it should have any C-Media files that it's supposed to have (but then I manually searched the installation files themselves, so regardless of which version I installed I should have seen it if it existed.)

Perhaps the changer application should come with the DLL if it's going to rely on it given that this DLL seems to no longer be distributed with anything?

The file exists and should be in your Win directory, but I don't know why it doesn't exist in your system. The name in the driver packs is CmiCnfgp.cpl and gets renamed to CmiCnfgp.dll when it gets copied to system32 (if you have windows x86) and SysWOW64 folder (if you have windows x64).

The C-Media panel works for your right? Give me details about what card do you have and which OS do you have.

I guess this is an issue with the installer script or something then (could it have been putting the CPL file somewhere else for some reason?) I had to manually copy the CPL file anyway for whatever reason. I can't really understand why it's being done this way in the first place though. As far as I can really tell if you really wanted to access the CPL file via rundll32, you can still do so with it using the .cpl file extension, so I don't see why it would do it that way in the first place.

Anyway, for now I've just simply made a copy of the CPL file and renamed it to CmiCnfgp.dll. The utility definitely no longer produces any errors.

I guess something went wrong in the installation process. This is the way C-media(and Asus) have done it.
Did you install the C-Media panel or the Asus one?

I used the C-Media panel since I wanted a few of the more advanced features versus just the most basic driver but still have the lower memory footprint and etc versus the original ASUS. No GX though.

What I find strangest though is that the script is trying to access a .CPL file renamed to .DLL in the first place. Why not just go straight to the CPL file itself?
