Hey! You can call me crazy but ive been looking on this blog for the past half hour for a download button and still havent found it, even if i find it before you can reply to this post, for the love of all things make a central download page or link in the navigation bar.
Flame me if you want but im pretty desperate, been trying to get my xonar DG card working for the past 6 hours and so far the only things thats working is it showing in device manager in win7 but it wont install the asus driver because it tells me to plug in the card when installing.
Im pretty close to throwing this sound card out the window.

Why the sound volume in XP is much larger than in WINDOWS 7? I use ESSENCE ST. I only need to set the volume to about 10 and the sound of headphone is large enough but in W7 the volume to be set to 30 to get the same volume. And is the sound quality of your 1800 driver better than the original 1794 driver? And also, what do you think about the horrible sudden screech problem that the ESSENCE STX/ST have in Windows vista/7?

I wasn't aware of volume being much louder on XP than on Win7. I don't know why this is. Sound quality should be roughly the same, it certainly isn't worse. Don;t know about horrible sudden screech problem, if its present with all the drivers than it might be a problem with the card.

Hi, Thanks for this drivers work very well!

I just have one small problem that dont know if i can solve. If i set Analog Output to Headsets (wich i use) i can hear a high frequency beep (sometimes intermitent)... my father says he can't hear it but i do! I've tryed changing the output to 2 Speakers and i cant hear the beep but the sound is a bit worse.

Any ideas on how i could fix this using Headsets?

    Thank you veyr much

I don't know. Is this happening with Asus drivers as well? Try with 1.53 UNi xonar drivers, if you have installed 1.61.

Thanks for your answer! I've been changing drivers and changing things and it looks like it's not driver- related. I've found that when my mouse is moving i dont hear any pitch and when it's idle i can hear it... I've changed mouse /USB ports etc and still can hear it! Even if i disconnect the mouse.... I'm now using the onboard audio card and there's no pitch so i'll stick with it.... Looks like it's a motherboard problem with voltage or something like that...

hey, also curious about the impedance values. I've just bought the xonar xense bundle. I am a massive fan of these drivers. but atm i can't see any options for the impedance selection for normal/high/extrahigh/pc350. I'm not too sure if it does anything more than add gain. would i actually lose anything/quality by not having this option? or like reavpeals said... I'd be happy changing a reg value 🙂

    again thanks in advance

This happens with older drivers as well? Normally on Asus panel the option should be there, at least on drivers prior to 1.61.

I don't know the registry variables, so if you install the Asus drivers and export the registry keys(how to is in the FAQ section), one registry for each selection of impedance (including 0 or default) and send them to me, I could be able to make an external app like front panel switching that should do the trick.

Are these drivers also working with the new ROG Phoebus?
This is listed in the driver description and there the Phoebus is in but was it tested?

"Unified Xonar driver for: Asus Xonar Cards: DG(X),DS(X), D1 ,D2, DX,D2X, HDAV,HDAV Slim, ST, STX, XENSE – Except for U1,U3, EssenceOne, ROG Phoebus ; and with Cmedia Panel only :"

Sorry they don't work. "Except for U1,U3, EssenceOne, ROG Phoebus", won't work with the cards after except.

[solved] I was using the latest version (1.61) for over a week and just yesterday the drivers stopped working and now it says No Audio Device is installed and now gives me error code 52. The older version 1.53 works perfectly. I think it might have been windows updates or something.
    Can anyone help me?

Ignore my last message. I have fixed the issue using possible solution 1.

Make sure GX is turned off. I had a similiar problem but only with Deus EX HR and nothing else. If this happens with multiple games you might consider that the card has some sort of problem. It might also be the drivers, considering this is the first version for DSX but I think this is unlikely.

Try your card in a different system, it might be the card.

Probably. Make sure you have GX disabled with either drivers.

GX is for games, and its known for its crashes. Try looking at the FAQ section, there is a note regarding Stereo upmix.

I have the same problem if one direct sound output streams is terminated without proper stop procedure. It plays the last buffer in the loop. It can happen with any software on WinXp 32bit. Other sound cards are not making that troble for me.
