I own a D2. Is it possible to do any kind of room correction in the drivers? My rear speakers are a bit further away from my seating position and the front to rear panning sounds a bit weird.

Using latest drivers 1.80a with Essence ST in Windows 10 i have sometimes white noise or sound errors when i rewind youtube films. It doesnt occur on official drivers from Asus (latest beta for W10)

    Edit: Only in Firefox.

I've just experienced the same thing with youtube video in Firefox (Xonar D1 with the latest UNi Drivers Low DPC mode in Win10) and after visiting this site, the latest comment is about it 😀 I think I was also rewinding youtube video when suddenly there was this very loud white noise. I read that other people had similar problem but they had to reboot their computer or change audio frequency to fix it but in my case I've just paused the video or rewound it to the earlier part that sounded normal. After refreshing the site, the whole video sounds normal again so I think the problem is with corrupted file in random situations. It was the first time I had this and I've been using Xonar D1 for 5 years. It's scary you can get this loud white noise anytime regardless of the sound volume 😀

I don't see any reason why would official drivers work differently than UNi Xonar 1.80a. Maybe the issue happens randomly and is yet to happen with the original drivers or maybe the system needed a restart after installing the UNi Xonar 1.80a drivers.

I confirm that this issue happens on standard Asus drivers (latest DX_8_1_8_1823_for_Win10.zip non Beta), and under W10 x64. It's not a UNi problem. It also happened previously to me under W10 x64 with the DX_8_1_8_1822_Win8_1.rar driver pack (patched setup file for W10) while inside a game menu. Didn't test on FF, but happened more than once under Chrome when opening clips, and even after opening a video file in MPC-HC set to default Directsound Device.

Also, the issue is old and there are a few long threads that keep being updated about it such as: http://www.head-fi.org/t/494565/xonar-essense-stx-random-loud-high-pitched-ringing-noise . Users with 7, 8.1, 10 are affected, but a new surge of posts about this issue seems to have popped since W10, as it seems to be happening more often. It's also not dependent on the sample rate configured on the Xonar CP. I'm using speakers, but l'll also leave SPDIF muted to see if it happens again.

I also had this for the first time after installing Win10 x64. But it also happened few days after I overclocked my CPU (Intel 2500K) - do you have overclocked cpu? I also have Xonar Switch but I don't think it's related.

Hello; I'm experiencing this issue since I upgraded from Win7 to Win10 (Essence STX II). Sometimes when skipping a youtube video (Firefox), an ultra loud distortion on line level followed by a high pitched white noise occurs. I'm using balanced outputs with Event 20/20 studio monitors but I decided tu use a cheap DAC with SPDIF output after it happened again last week (to avoid another pannic attack >_<). I'd really to find a solution, but it seems to be a very old and rare issue.

Hey CarvedInside, since switching to Win10 and the new drivers I'm having an issue with Line-In on my STX. I use to be able to enable monitoring while also still having audio playback, but it appears that something has changed that I can no longer get Line-in monitoring to work while Audio playing is happening. Any ideas?

Hi! I have random mismatch channel issues with my xonar d1 card, the direction of sounds are randomly changing. I also have this problem with the official asus driver. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

You should check your card in another system and see if you still get the same behavior.

    Guys,

Although not a newbie to this I still get kinda confused. Also, if this problem has already been answered then apologies for both in advance.

I have the HDAV 1.3 and using it with Win 10 64 bit. Try as I might however, I can't get Win 10 to recognise the HDAV 1.3 as an HDMI item. When navigating to Playback Devices, it shows HDAV 1.3 as a SP/DIF device and thus I can only get DTS and/or Dolby Digital 5.1 to my Audiolab receiver. Will using your driver pack solve this for me? I had thought of going back to Win 7 drivers - the world was a wonderful place then. I'm to understand Win 7 drivers will work with Win 10. Once I have HDMI via the HDAV, I can get full HD audio...right?

    Wha say you?

Don't know. You will have to try the drivers. ASUS pretty much dropped HDAV driver support a long time ago so I don't know how well the audio drivers in UNi Xonar driver packages will work with HDAV.
Win 7 HDAV drivers might work in Win 10 if you edit some files. You would need to open "CmSetx.dll" in notepad and edit the "SupportedOS=win7" line to "SupportedOS=donotcare".

LE: If you want to try the original drivers I recommend you mod the Win 8 drivers.

    Hello!

At first I would like to say a big thank you for your work, I cannot more appriciate it.

Using it with Xonar Xense with Windows 10, the headphone selection is not working. I make any changes in the selection panel and it does not have any really effect the output. I am using the bundled Sennheiser headphone.

    Do you have any guess?!

    Thanks a lot again.

    Thanks

Which drivers have you tried? You should try 1.80a, 1.75a and 1.80b and see if in any of them the headphone selection works.
      Additionally you should update Windows.

I get clicking/popping/etc. It happens like once a minute. Doesn't matter if I listen to music, play games or watch a movie. I'm running win 10 64bit uni xonar driver v1.80 r3.

Did this happen just recently (2-3 days ago) or you got this problem from earlier? Have you tried with 1.75a drivers as well?

I tried another sound card. Same problem. Can it be the power supply?

Your issue might be from one of Win 10 updates. Maybe the Threshold 2 update if that was automatically installed.
You should look into uninstalling the latest windows updates, temporary block them from reinstalling and see if you still have the issue.

ATM I don't know how the Threshold 2 update appears in the system, if it appears as regular update or as a Windows upgrade.

hi there, 1st of all tnx for all the work you do. I'm having random audio stutter, especially in game when multiple sounds come all together. i have an asus dgx 5.1 and i'm using headphone. SO is windows 10 pro, tryied out with low latency setup but nothing changed. i used diff configuration like setting only 2 channels instead of 8 and dolby 5.1 surround effect but nothing changed. can a sound card cause fps drop in game ? like half second freeze. i have this problem only on moba games and seems to happen at the same time a sound occurs when a sound plays for the 1st time. i also had audio stutter on youtube ( using firefox ) and playing video on MPC. any idea ?

    thank you

Just to be clear I don't make the audio drivers.
There are no new audio drivers available and from the looks of it ASUS won't release any new driver files. If you have problems with your current drivers and Windows 10, you can try with 1.80a drivers and use them with C-Media Panel or XonarSwitch as ASUS Audio Center does not work. Anyway most problems might actually be from the crappy Windows 10 that M$ tried to force feed us with.

Is anybody know that is it possible to somehow get the the rear speakers of a 5.1 system to give the same sound then the front ones in case of music listening?! On the onboard Realtek card somethink must be marked and working properly. I think it is called Loudness ballancing on the onboard card....

Hello, first of all, i want to say thanks for the effort, I love Uni Xonar drivers and XonarSwitch!!!!

I have a D2/PM since 2009, and i'm very happy with it so far, but i'm curious, is there any way to force the driver or use an external software to detect the input channels that are played and smartly turn on the channel upmixing depending on the input?
It would be awesome to get this feature and forget about the annoying manual channel selection for those of us who want to get always a 5.1 output.
The xonarSwitch upmix option only works for me if the channel imput is set to 2, im in windows 10.

    Sorry for my english.
    Thanks again and regards!

When i switched to windows 10, I started to have the "White noise/buzzing" problem with my mic. It only happens when I'm playing games. It was not happening in windows 7 🙁 Tried to install w7 drivers on w10 but didn't work 🙁 Tried many stuff but couldn't find a solution. It is getting so annoying when I'm playing games with my friends. I just can't use my mic because of the incredible noise to them. I have Xonar DG sound card and Msi R7870 Hawk GPU (Some says its releated to the GPU) is there anything u can do with it? Don't think it is because of my hardware because it was fine in w7 🙁
