@at0m ,i thought ur Roccat was working ? What was the problem ?
Anyway as far as center is concerned. How are u checking that Center is missing?
And well u are using Uni 1.25 drivers and i am using Xonar driver's provided by Asus 🙁
Version:7.12.8.1780
at0m12 Nov 2010 @ 21:21
@K-ous
in the Xonar Control Panel you can click on the Volume Button (beside the Analog Settings in the Main Menu). After this, you can click on the picture on the ipeakers and you (will) hear a sound from this specified speaker.
CarvedInside12 Nov 2010 @ 17:33
Some of you have noticed that Mehr has done some sound quality tests with RMAA between normal/lowDPClatency/Cmedia drivers, and from his results the normal version had better quality.
I managed to do my own tests in RMAA, all by the book, following the guide on how to test Xonar Cards with RMAA, I did them both for XP and Windows 7 and I can say there isn't any difference of quality. You can check the results here.
K-ous13 Nov 2010 @ 06:58
@at0m , dunno why u arent getting any sound from center.
Would be stupid to ask u to check if u have inserted the center jack properly into the center/subw(White colored LED).
u got xfire ? my xf is tsub.
at0m13 Nov 2010 @ 13:59
Yes, but not installed ;-).
and ... you dont understand me: "Now it IS working."
Mehr13 Nov 2010 @ 21:34
Please, redo test in 16/44.1 mode.
CarvedInside14 Nov 2010 @ 00:45
I will soon.

Newest Xonar D2X Driver : 11/12/2010 (ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/PUB/ASUS/Audio_Card/Xonar_D2X/) Any Improvements from this Drivers ?
CarvedInside14 Nov 2010 @ 17:34
Except for the different customizations that I made, there aren't any differences.
rankena14 Nov 2010 @ 18:40
100% agree.
at0m14 Nov 2010 @ 22:23
Can it be that the Asus People have copied your customizations?!
CarvedInside14 Nov 2010 @ 23:22
No, not yet anyway. Why do you say that?
Neel14 Nov 2010 @ 23:59
Will these drivers work with the Xonar DG card?? I keep getting a sound output which crackles and breaks..sort of an old cd player skipping. I installed the latest directx on my pc and this fixed it but now the settings in the xonar control panel keep switching default device to front panel headphone!
Iam using windows 7 x86 professional.
CarvedInside15 Nov 2010 @ 09:41
They work, if the normal version doesn't fix your problem, you might try the Low DPC latency version (select it from the setup wizard) .
Neel15 Nov 2010 @ 10:52
Hmm..will try that..
Had one more query : When installing klite codec pack (the "full" version) a lot of broken files or codecs were prompted to be deleted and i deleted them.Would that be causing issues? Should I uninstall Klite codec pack too before installing these drivers?
CarvedInside15 Nov 2010 @ 12:07
It could have something to do with k-lite codec pack. I suggest you uninstall it and use a player which has all the codecs included, like VLC player, Smplayer or Media Player Classic HC.
at0m15 Nov 2010 @ 00:11
Ahh sorry, it was a fail thought. Sorry for that (My Eyes read some wrong things ^^).
Adien Phoresis15 Nov 2010 @ 00:48
Just wondering if there is any improvement from the sound quality with ASUS newest drivers.. Wokey, I'm still using u'r modded drivers anyway..
rankena15 Nov 2010 @ 07:49
UNI # UNO!
Red515 Nov 2010 @ 15:00
I don't understand if it's possible to switch to Front panel output with these drivers. I tried yesterday but C-media panel seems to have not that feature.
Another question. will it possible to fix the wasapi event driver mode bug with these drivers? Some weeks ago I post the istruction for an easily test with a Xonar DX for example.
CarvedInside16 Nov 2010 @ 12:52
Its not possible, at least for now. I don't think I can fix the wasapi event bug. A while back I tried you're guide steps but didn't manage to make it play. I also responded to one of your comments, but I think you missed my comment.
Send me the steps again please (by email) so I could see what is this bug about and if somehow I figure what is wrong I will fix it.
VIKINGS15 Nov 2010 @ 22:47
Dito on that, use vlc. It's one of the best players around, can play any format, has tons of options, it's free and you don't need any additional codecs.
Dalamar16 Nov 2010 @ 08:53
VLC is mediocre at best (suppose it's useful when certain videos act up, usually bad encodes lol), and k-lite is a terrible pack known for its fail.
If you're too lazy to install codecs on your own, CCCP causes less problems.

Hi, I can't get the 1.25 drivers to work in Windows 7 X64, in device manager the audio device is flagged and in device status shows,
Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)
Anyone else getting this?
[later edit] NVM I managed to fix my issue, just removed Uni Xonar from Program & Features and installed again using the low latency + ASIO fix. 😛
wix16 Nov 2010 @ 09:06
Hi, got the 1.25 driver pack working with Asus ST and WXP x86. Everything's working better than ever before. With the C-Media Panel installed, or no panel at all (low DPC mode), is it possible to check what sample rate the card is working at in Windows XP? Can you post a link to the sample rate changing batch files in a reply? I want to take a look inside and see whether "OutputFormat = 44 ac 00 00" in the registry translates to "sample rate 44.1KHz." I couldn't find the batch files anywhere on this site; this particular wordpress "style" is a true nightmare to navigate : Thanks in advance.
CarvedInside16 Nov 2010 @ 12:47
You can download sample rate switcher from here . You will need to restart or Disable and Enable the Asus Xonar Card from the Device Manager. A quick way to see if its working is to see if DPC latency is higher. Unfortunately in some rare cases it doesn't work.
I am planning to improve the style or at least rewrite most of the stuff, so its easier to find & read.
---
The default sample rate is 44.1 KHz, and yes its "OutputFormat = 44 ac 00 00" in the registry
K-ous16 Nov 2010 @ 17:59
@at0m i didnt get you , but since u got it working now.
Can i pls know what was the issue?
@CarvedIns , configuration working nicely although not all applications give proper rear audio. But have to do this configuration again and again everytime Windows starts.
