Im on the STX card, which have worked perfect on windows 10. Recently installed windows 11, and it still works with your driver package. However, im using voicemeeter for dual pc stream, and when i install that in win11 the c-media cant find my card. voicemeeter finds the card, but i miss out on all the goodie-settings from the c-media.

Edit 1: Oh and i forgot, same goes for the audio center app.

Seems like this is a "bug" in newer versions of voicemeeter. Anything above 2.0.6.8.

"after 2.0.6.8, the version x.1.0.0 introduces a new VAIO driver offering 8 audio I/O instead of single one. Some application can be lost with a driver providing more than a single pin. The work arround could be to use VB-CABLE to make the link. or ask to Xonar DX dev team to simply update their app after having validate it with our current Voicemeeter."

Is this something you could look into CarvedInside?

Hey, everybody! I recently reinstalled Windows and installed this driver, but couldn't find the real-time settings application. I remember exactly that it was there, it was launching on startup. But maybe I had some other version or mod? I couldn't find it.

Hi there. I'm on the STX card running a kept-updated Win10. It has worked great for years, but suddenly, it has started to go mono. I mean, it sounds like left and right channels combined into one, like using the Windows Accessibility  > Audio feature called "mono audio". When I go for a Windows audio test, the chime goes out clearly to both loudspeakers. I've tried everything: multiple driver installations (with different versions, low latency and not), a registry hack to set the accessibility feature off (which was off already btw), changing the external Tclass amplifier, and even a Win refresh deleting user profiles. Nothing worked (actually, I'm an IT guy; shame on me).
I'm begging for any suggestions pls...

Try the different STX card's outputs (rear headphones/speakers, front panel headphone). Try with a different audio cable. Check if you have the same issue when using the onboard sound card.

Thank you CarvedInside for your tips. Yes, I've needed eons to come back to this topic... I didn't feel like opening the case and battling with the hardware...
Even if I went through a whole bunch of nightmares (cables to be bought, win11, non-carried-out circuit, etc...), I fixed the issue in the end. The real reason was so embarrassing that it's hard to confess, though!
The cables from the amp to the loudspeakers were wrongly paired. Basically, I carried out the two positives for one speaker and the two negatives for the other one.
I wonder if they were even working! :-O

Thank you for calling it a problem instead of a bloody stupidity 🙂
In my defense, I support electric cable for speakers. In my head, the idea that I was using one color for one channel and a different color for the other one was a solid rock. And I never checked it... it is the "standard" debug process, right? ;-).
After months of swearing, I finally realized that one color was both the rights and the other was the lefts (#*!!&@).
Ciao, and thank for all the fish.

Subject - Dolby Digital DSP does not function anymore.

Hello, Thank you for the Drivers that work under Windows 10/11 however
I find the Digital/Optical TosLink output is not giving the correct Dolby DSP?

About 10 years ago under Windows 7 when this card was active in the market.... I used it and successfully had my Stereo reading DSP signal. And I could actively hear the changes in audio when selecting in Xonar Audio Center. (Dolby Live / Dolby Interactive). Honestly was some of the best sounding music from Dolbys digital processing.

However under current drivers Win10/11 it appears this does nothing, as-well as the controls and EQ-visualizer in the Xonar App. My stereo never displays a Digital Dolby Signal and only basic PCM audio.
Is this just simply related to licensing/driver issues that came around during Win10?
Is there a way to make the digital signal proccessing by dolby on this card actually work?

If its not possible in windows 10.... I am planning to get a Win-7 machine simple for the purpose of getting the full use of this card.... Anyone here experience using this card on Windows 7 Today with the original Assus Drivers? It's only about 100-200$ for this type of old PC on ebay, but I just would hate to get there and still the same results of Dolby DSP being blocked or 'unsupported' when infact its probably dolby a chip on the card.

You could try with older driver versions, like v1.64. Report back if Dolby Digital Live works with older drivers and Windows 10/11. This would tell us if the newer drivers broke this functionality, otherwise this issue could also be some kind of compatibility problem caused by Windows 10/11, for which I don't currently have any suggestion.

I personally don't have a receiver so I can try Dolby Digital Live Xonar card's output. The last I known, DDL worked fine on Windows 7.

I have a xonar d2x and with windows 10 pro keep getting unsigned driver error. Is there a version which doesn’t need test mode or driver signature validation disabled?

      1. Which driver version have you tried?
      2. Is your card automatically detected as Xonar D2X in the UNi Xonar installer?
      3. Tell me your complete Windows version and build number.

All "a" versions did not require driver signature bypass for cards like Xonar D2X until now, either a Windows update messed that up or there is some issue on your end.

Since the card is detected fine by the UNi Xonar installer, I don't know what the reason could be for ASUS Audio Center to have stop detecting the card. At the moment I don't have anything else in this regard.

XonarSwitch works with the original drivers, but I don't see a reason for you to go back. If it's a problem of trusting my work, maybe you shouldn't trust my advises and shouldn't have asked for my help.

Sadly I have to forget my STX II, at least on an up-to-date Windows 11 OS. Thanks for the drivers, as long as they worked well.
With more recent Windows the loud static, loud whine, no audio, no audio in one of the channels and loss of volume has become too common, almost everyday, and dangerous for my health. Sad to bury a $200 card. Perhaps in the far future, when Windows becomes obsolete and Linux takes over... (On Linux I've never had issues, amazing!)
The driver was fine on Win10 too, that hasn't been updated for 5+ years. Had an issue at most once per month.
    Thank you, while it lasted!

Looks like I'll have to sadly move on from my Xonar D2X :'(

I'm no longer able to launch games protected via Easy Anti Cheat, the latest version detects the drivers as DMA. Removing the card and drivers allows the games to function once more - confirmed by Epic. Now what to replace it with...

UNi Xonar W10 1825 v1.81a r2 / UNi Xonar 1816/1823 v1.80a r3 on both Windows 10 and Windows 11. Thought it may have been my PC at first so re-installed Windows and same thing - tried again without the sound card drivers and worked first time - installed drivers and locks up straight away.

Fortnite and Rust break after about 30 seconds via EAC, older EAC works on Back4Blood and others. Happy to share more via Discord or whichever if needs be. Swapped for an SB AE-5 Plus and all is working now.

Would swap back to the Xonar D2x in a flash if it worked ahain haha.

Which panel configuration did you choose when you installed UNi Xonar drivers (Normal, Low DPC Latency etc.)?
If I need to follow up with you, can I use the e-mail address that you used for the comments?

Atm I can't start some of the EAC games I have installed (Apex Legends, The Finals) because of some issue that EAC has with the nVidia driver version that I have installed, so I can't even quickly confirm that I managed to get the same result.

Will try to look into it. Thank you for the information provided.

Sure thing, happy for you to reach out by email.

I was using 1821 v1.71.1 for a very long time because of suggestions that other versions could have problems with resuming from standby which I use a lot. I just got some Edifier speakers and I have noticed that the volume from the right speaker was higher than the volume in the left speaker. At first I thought that it was a problem with the speakers, a fault.

I changed the drivers to 1823 v1.80a r3 and it fixed the volume problem with the speakers. Sounds are now playing at the same volume from both speakers when the outputs to the speakers are balanced in settings.

I'm using Windows 10 21H2 with an Asus Xonar DSX sound card which does everything that I need and was fairly inexpensive. It has a front panel output to my case headphone socket and it has a SPDIF output header which I have connected to a rear case coax output so that I can output DTS via a coax cable to my receiver. It does multi channel audio even though I usually use only stereo.

I am now very pleased that the drivers have fixed that big problem. I use it with Xonar Switch which all works very well for me. :o)

Thank you for your work on the drivers and for providing the information and software on this website.

Interesting. Thank you for the report. I have not noticed such a issue at the time I was using v1.71.1 and don't think someone else reported such an issue. Will have to check it out to confirm this. I'm am thinking this could also be caused by volume for L/R not being at at the same level in one of the Windows or cards settings for whatever reason, and that would have been fixed also with a fresh install of v1.71.1.

At which output this Edifier speakers are connected (S/PDIF, analog rear, etc.)? Have you also noticed this with the headphones?

v1.75a and v1.80a seem to be working fine, at least for me. Those standby issues may not happen with more recent Windows 10 versions.

      • RedDwarf10 Apr 2025 @ 23:08

My Edifier R1380T speakers only have two Analogue Phono inputs and no SPDIF. I have messed around a lot with the Left/Right levels in both windows and in my sound card Asus Xonar DSX settings and I had to do this to try and compensate for the different Left/Right output levels. That was largely unsuccessful TBH. Only changing the drivers fixed it for me. I came close to returning the Edifier speakers thinking that they were faulty before I changed the drivers. I'm glad that a driver changed avoided that mistake. My DAB+ radio didn't show the same problems like my Windows PC.

Unfortunately I cannot test with headphones because my front headphone jack is broken and only the right channel works because the 3.5mm jack tip connector is broken or none functional and I need to replace it when I can find a suitable replacement. At one time I could get it working by moving the jack plug but that is too unreliable and difficult to do now. I still need to identify what type of jack connector that I need to replace it with, regarding the switches on it to signal a jack is present. There are about 5 connections on the jack socket if I remember correctly. I need to look at it again and try and work out which ones are actually used before I make a purchase.

        Self built system:
Windows 10 21H2 Enterprise with all updates except for pending updates in the last couple of days
        Asus Z77-Premium with Intel i7-3770K with 32GB DDR3
        nVidia GTX 1660
        Asus Xonar DSX sound card

BTW I have been using the Asus control panel and not the C-Media one which I dislike because I don't like how it functions & looks. I find the Asus control panel much easier to use. I did install the C-Media control panel at first with 1823 v1.80a r3 but quickly replaced it with the Asus control panel.

Me again. I hadn't posted in atleast 13 years. I still have issues from time to time, and have to play around with it to fix my audio. (Asus xonar dx). Yes, same card from way back. Running these drivers. UNi Xonar 1816/1823 v1.80a r3. Gigabyte x570 aorus elite, 32 GB ram. I have used the same card over three motherboards.

These are fixes or solutions that might help others and what I have done.

    1. Reconnect all cords. Even twist the earphone cord slightly in the port of the speaker and the cords in the back of the speaker. JBL Platinum speakers.
    2. Reconnect soundcard. Sometimes bumping the PC case messes up sound connection. Make sure it is properly screwed in by the case screws.
    3. Re-install drivers. (Checkbox driver cleaning) I use the driver listed above and leave it alone. Sometimes audio works instantly, but you can reboot if you choose.
    4. Re-plug all cords into your onboard audio to see if it still works to narrow down the issue.
    5. I have replaced earphones
    6. I have also read on this site that people removed the asus soundcard and went back to onboard audio

PS - I have also donated a few bucks to keep site running years ago.

    Cheers

I'd search the comments in this thread, but there doesn't appear to be anyway to. I saw in a few pages similar issues, hoping someone has a solution?

I'm using the UNi-Xonar-W10-1825-v1.81a-r2 driver pack, and for some reason after a random amount of time, my speakers slowly start echoing and acting as a microphone. It's the weirdest thing, because it seems to increase over time if I do nothing.

My fix has been to uninstall the sound card from device manager, restart, re-install. I'm running the ASUS Xonar DX.

anyone have any idea with the eCLARO HT OMEGA card no matter which driver from 1.64 to 1.81 and the Official from ht omega site would popping/crackling/stop the sound if using SPDIF even when muted I would hear the popping from my DAC/AMP, using analog works perfect. using Titanium works fine, and just about any other sound card.
Is there a way to fix this issue?
I'll give example, the sound is perfectly fine when I just listen to music or doing none gpu usage, as soon I launch a high GPU load the sound would even popping/disappear if I move my mouse or just opening explorer/browser or anything.

I was wondering if "Full-range speakers" option changes anything? If I switch the number of channels on my STX-II through XonarSwitch it always un-ticks this option and I set it up again through Windows Speaker Setup in Sound options. Is it pointless?

Cant be fixed, it's been 1/2 years now. RIOT's smart move to implement a ban on a lot of drivers instead of a proper fix, who cause these. They didn't take account of others who genuinely use Eg, Sound Cards. At the same time is all because of the hacking community that makes others suffer.

Now if you need to use RIOT anti-cheat, or any other anti-cheat. Sound Card is not going to work anymore. The Xonar DX is just an electronic scrap at this point.

Best is to upgrade to something newer, don't think there is any new PCIe Sound Card any more. Now mostly USB. But still not sure how good it is and whether RIOT anti-cheat will flag it. If not back to crappy Onboard Audio.
