How did you mean random channel upmix?Do you connect jacks from speakers to the sound card correctly.Set in Cmedia CPL "System input" 2ch and "system output" 5.1 or 7.1 sp and enable flex bass.

How to get center speaker to work when listening to music on a 5.1 speaker set?

Maybe it isnt properly connected. Or maybe the center output is dead. Try activating 7.1 and move the center jack to the next input port. Check the manual if you have problems.

If you had connected properly and set in panel:
      Audio Channels: 6 channels
      Analog Out: 5.1 Speakers
      it must work properly.
Also upmix fix option in setup will DISABLE upmix, not enable it (default is enabled).

Oh, didn't know that the upmix option disabled upmix, I thought that was supposed to enable it. I already replaced my 5.1 system with a 2.0 one though since I can't do 5.1 and DDL with my DG :/

It will be exactly as you written when surround is switched with center.

Also there is a rare driver bug with channel mapping, but rebooting or disable and enabled card in Windows Device Manager helps.

Upps I was wrong, it enables.
Seem that in older version was disable up-mix.

I recently reinstalled windows, and I noticed that when I try to install the C-Media CP with GX Enabled, I get all sorts of problems (crackling audio, repeating audio on game exit, and I'm not 100% sure of this, but I think it even introduces either more latency in a game called osu!) Without GX though, none of those problems exist.

Also, what is the Xear 3D option in C-Media's CP? Is that GX?

I'm creating a new installer for UNiXonar, and need testers with:
    - WIndows 7 x64 and Xonar HDAV
    - Windows XP (any card)
    - all non Xonar cards (any system)

    Full support list:

    All ASUS Xonar's

    HTO Claro
    Auzen HDA X-Purity 7.1
    Auzen X-Meridian 7.1
    TempoTec HIFIER Serenade
HTO Claro Halo / Claro Halo XT
    HTO eClaro

Thank you Virus! your driver works greate. I figured out a latency reduction from 2000 to 500 when playing flac files with Foobar + Wasapi + Xonar Analog. But, when I play a movie (any mkv with h264+dts/ac3) with Potplayer + MadVR + FFDSHOW + Reclock latency goes up to 5000 (large red bars in DPC Latency Checker!). Do you know any way to reduce latency playing mkv's?

    Really thanks for your work!

It may not be related to audio driver, but video. Maybe check on other player/config.
Almost every driver in system can cause high DPC latency.
Personally, I use MPC-HC player with EVR (DXVA) and DirectSound output (only because WASAPI is broken, but in development so it will be fixed), and does not have such problems.
Also tell me what card you have, it will be useful info.

BTW, this is not my driver after all. is just a seup package that configures options in original c-media/asus drivers.

My goal was to create a fully configured driver in C:UNiXonarversion for re-use with current settings.

I'm not blaming your driver Virus. I Forgot to mention my rig: GA-MA790X-4UDP+Xonar D2X+Windows 7 x64.
I prefere Potplayer+MadVR+FFDSHOW because Imagen Quality (better than EVR-DXVA). I will try MPC-HC+EVR-DXVA to see how DPC Latency is affected. I have to mention too that there is no glitch or video frame lost with this latency values. I'm just asking cause I think this values are not "ideal".
Thank you very much for your work!!

PS: Should I use the new installer?

I do not use MadVR because it lack of x64 version (I use mpc-hc x64). Also IQ is not much better on Halli renderer/MadVR than
EVR. On good material like HD 720/1080p is almost not noticeable. Better IQ may be noticed on more static scenes in lower quality movies. MPC-HC also support 10bit and full floating point image processing with EVR output.

Also, credits goes to CarvedInside. I'm only created new installer, and few utilities for this project.

Alright. Is there anything that can be done about the audio glitching and etc when GX is enabled? When I enable EAX in Diablo 2 and Warcraft 3, it works fine. However, games that don't seem to use EAX show the problems (poping audio, latency, repeating audio)

    Test1 of 2.0 installer: http://www.mediafire.com/?tln6mf6o62us727

    New installer features:
    *rid of batch files
*setup unpack files to [system drive]:UNiXonarversion like other driver innstalers (ATI, NVIDIA etc.)
*2 panels: asus and cmedia [possible to add more]
*panel setup types: normal, no GX, latency optimized
    *1777 driver (ASIO 1.0 patch) [1]
*stereo upmix should work with all configuration [earlier were some conflicts]
    *card selection before unpacking files
*you may select now to install or not driver at end of unpacking
*you can re-use unpacked drivers (saves configuration options selected when unpacking!)
*proper HDAV/HDAV slim driver [also in ASIO 1.0 patch]
*multi language [but some hardcoded massages are not yet translated to all languages]

    Cons:
    *No old driver cleaning [yet]
    *Possible bugs

1 - ASIO Patch for Windows 7 is now complete driver, with all inf etc. all cards supported by 1777 driver should not get driver signature error any more.

    1777 driver do not support:
    *Razer cards
    *HTO eClaro
    *Auzen X-Meridian 7.1 2G
    *Xonar Xense
    *Xonar DG

For those cards you must switch you system to testing mode using some tools [like NGO Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider].

does any1 know why my sound doesnt work when i select the ASIO1.0 patch to be installed with any of the configs. i have the Xonar DG 5.1 and a set of Roccat Kave 5.1s and im getting very bad ingame sound in Bad Company 2. i would like to try the asio1.0 patch to see if it fixes my problem and lets me get proper sound in game. any help would be appreciated 🙂

It will not help you in games, because games are not using ASIO, also it will downgrade driver to 1777. And 1777 driver does not (officially) support Xonar DG, so is not signed driver and will not be initialized by Vista/W7 x64. You can disable driver signing enforcement using NGO Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider, but it's possible that 1777 will not work at all on Xonar DG.

Some sound issues in this game was fixed by game updates, but you should have all of it if you have original copy (autoupdater in game laucher).

"(...) from the installation screen (...)"
You mean component dialog? You must select configuration option you want.
On tasks dialog you select "Other Xonar" card.

@ Virus: Many thanks for the new installer.
      HDAV and W7 x64.
I tried to install Test1 and Test2 and none of them installs the C-Media panel.
      Driver signature errors in Test1.
I was able to install the driver included in the Test2, without the C-Media panel (it does not install no matter what i do to get it installed). No signature errors when installing the driver included in the Test2 package.

I know why now, HDAV ale completely not unified. To make UNiXonar proper support for it, I must add the WHOLE driver with ASUS Audio Center etc. A lot o work.

        @CarvedInside
Maybe we cut off HDAVs from main installer and create new one ? HDAVs are NOT unified because there are not pcioxygen in installer. Also cmedia panel will not work because cpl and dlls files have references to cmihdav.sys.

@Virus: Got this error at the end of installing Test2:
"There was a problem starting C:Windowssystem32cmicnfgp.cpl The specified module could not be found."
Drivers works just fine just wondering what was it?
Specs: win7 32bit and xonar DG, installed c-media panel (normal)

Other question about c-media panel installation: Does low latency have GX enabled (xear 3d)? Other differences between the normal version?

There was also a missing start menu shortcut to the original Xonar Audio Center. "UNi Xonar Audio" folder was created but it was empty.
