1.50 Exp1 is working fine for me in test mode, but of course the only issue I've ever had with the Uni drivers is with the signature stuff in non-test mode.

I'll probably regret installing these the next time I reboot without remembering to re-activate test mode though 🙂

I don't get the last part? You don't have the test mode always on and just enable it each time when booting ?

I used the .bat file you provided for enabling test mode, and something I read gave me the impression that it may not persist across reboots? If it does persist then I'm happy; the watermark doesn't even bother me since I don't spend any time looking at my desktop.

For some reason I get the default Asus control panel even though I had clicked the C-Media one. Win7-64 in test mode, Xonar DX.

LE: Actually I take that back, I have the C-Media interface available under Windows Control Panel and the Asus interface in my start menu.

If the driver only works in Test Mode, then you shouldn't disable it.

Otherwise you can check the 1.41 driver. C-Media or Low DPC Latency.

I'm not able to install these drivers as I wasn't able to install 1.41 before. I have UAC disabled, I ran both installers as administrator, I had already uninstalled my previous xonar drivers and restarted, and for these new ones I had enabled test mode but I got the exact same issue that I had always gotten which is the drivers never install, in task manager "system" has 25 cpu usage and the driver installation bar takes 15-20 minutes to go to the end (increases at set intervals) until the bar is full. I have to force shut down as I can't end the system process.

Greetings Michael! I had the same problem (W7 Premium x64, Xonar HDAV). Please follow these steps:
1.- Download Autoruns by Sysinternals http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/b...
      2.- Uninstall the old Unixonar.
3.- Execute "Autoruns.exe", go to "Drivers" tab. Look for a driver named "cmudaxp.sys" (this is the system process). Uncheck the box corresponding to this driver. Please be careful with Autoruns. Do not disable a wrong file, you may get a BSOD.
      4.- Reboot (VERY important)
5.- Install the new drivers, reboot. The new cmudaxp.sys will replace the old one and will boot along with Windows (no need to enable it with Autoruns).
      Enjoy.

Thanks for the advice but sadly it didnt work 🙁

I didnt reboot after I uninstalled the normal Xonar drivers and in autoruns the entry was there but it said file not found. I tried it on the 1.41 uni drivers.

Sorry to hear it didnt work. As you pointed out, there is a system process running in the background which does not allow you to update the driver. It is not "cmudaxp.sys". Run Autoruns and see if you can find "cmhdav". Note that my soundcard is a HDAV, so if yours is different the process may be named "cm****", depending on the model of your card - Autoruns shows a brief description of what is each driver for, it helps to find the right process. If you find a system process which seems to be the right one, google on it before disabling it with Autoruns to make sure it is the right system process. Please be aware that you may get a BSOD messing with Auroruns if you disable any core process. Do this on your own risk, and please, use google to look for some information before to disable anything. Something else... for some reason, when you google on the name of a process, you will get a lot of entries stating that the process is a virus or something worst. Apparently some viruses use the name of system processes to hide themselves, it does not mean that your computer is infected.
          Good luck!

Check your settings, don't exceed 24 bit Bit-Depth output and try setting the latency above 20 ms.

I managed to install the newest drivers in test mode.
But I decided to go back to 1.41, becaude of bass choking other levels.
Like there was too little space to all of them 🙂
Went back to 1.41 and again all the levels are on their places, not interfering too much with the others.

Good day. Is the infamous recording->output high latency issue (that makes real-time monitoring impossible) is eliminated in Xonar D1 with these drivers?

Intentionally no. But your safest bet is to try the latest drivers ( who knows, maybe C-Media fixed this in 1796) and with C-Media panel option in UNi installer.

Any chance of you guys fixing the broken SVN option? Atm and for as long as I can remember it's been quite buggy.

I am trying to download the latest version, the 1796, but the mediafire offers me the version 1794.
    Where's the link for the 1796 ?

    Thanks @

On the red button label "Download latest test driver build", right of the download button you pressed.

With both the official Asus drivers and these drivers I frequently get a bluescreen with "PROCESS_HAS_LOCKED_PAGES" apparently caused by the Windows kernel. I'm sure it's something to do with the soundcard. Does anyone happen to know if there's a way to resolve this? Possibly a conflict with another program/ drivers?

I don't know, but you could try these:
      - Update motherboard Bios
      - Change the PCI/PCIe slot where the card it
      - Make sure Windows and all the drivers are updated.

If none of these work, better return the card and get your money back if you can.

        I'm on 7 64. Low Latency profile.
I"ve done this test 3 times (uninstall and install these 2 versions, and watching the same part of the movie - differance was clear, too mach bass, narrow scene, everything was choked and dumb).
I don't havean idea what to correct, all settings stay the same, but quality is very different.
