i have tried it with a clear win 8 build yesterday and got the missing signature error message. with test build enabled too. any solution?
CarvedInside29 Dec 2011 @ 15:47
You tried it with both 1.50exp1 and 1.41? In 1.50 was build for x64 versions of win vista,7 and server 2008. And can't for now create the certificate to be compatible with win8.
The only advice that you should try ,is to run the installer in Win 7 compatibility mode (right click->Proprieties->Compatibility).
Kado19 Dec 2011 @ 13:47
I think I the issue may be related with file permissions and UAC... I've enabled the hidden administrator accound and it works fine there but with the "stock" administrator account it still the same. I'm going to investigete this further and report later on...
andy19 Dec 2011 @ 23:54
the old 2.x beta work fine for me. now if i try to install the new build it got the error 🙁
CarvedInside29 Dec 2011 @ 15:48
The old beta was based on 1.41 in fact.

Question about sampling rates,
Does the setting under playback device properties in Windows effect sampling rate on the output? As in, should I have both the setting in the c-media panel and Windows the same if I don't want any weird resampling going on?
Sorry, if I'm asking in the wrong place, google has failed me....

The new foobar2000 ASIO plugin (2.0.4) solves the ASIO crackling/popping issue I had with my Xonar DX, at last!
CarvedInside29 Dec 2011 @ 15:53
Just if there is a problem understanding, he is referring to ASIO plugin in foobar2000 that had been updated to 2.0.4 not the Xonar ASIO driver(2.0.0.4 or whatever).
To update this, Foobar2000 ->Help -> Check for updated components .
Thx for sharing this.

What drivers you use?

UNi Xonar 1794 v1.41

I have 1.50 exp on Windows 7 64bit and it's awesome...I love it...Thank you ...
Multumesc pentru driveri 🙂 ..
Getting back to english i realised that Divinity II have some sound problems like missing sounds or the sound cut way to harsh when it comes to distance...
CarvedInside29 Dec 2011 @ 15:56
Cu placere!:)
And this problem was there before, like with 1.41 UNi drivers? 1st thing is to have GX and SVN disabled and see if there is still a problem.
Phil24 Dec 2011 @ 16:41
I would like to thankyou for this information. i have just purchased an asus xonar dx and i was getting what i thought was a strange noise. couldn't quite explain it but the best way i could explain it was a tinny noise where it shouldn't of been
turns out it was the reverb thing you talk about.
after installing your drivers i no longer get this issue.
pretty bad that the official drivers cause this and i was close to returning this card
enoch0o25 Dec 2011 @ 10:50

Hi,I just installed 1.5 and my left and right are inverted, I am using headphones out of the DD jack in the sound card. Do you have any reason why it is changing them?
I uninstalled and ran drivver sweeper and reinstalled and the Left / Right reversal is fixed. Is there a fix anywhere for the Xonar software defaulting to the FP Headphone?
CarvedInside29 Dec 2011 @ 15:42
Please be more specific about "Xonar software defaulting to the FP Headphone".
Kado28 Dec 2011 @ 15:33
I'm using the hidden W7 Administrator account and my GX/openal issues are gone.
Cheers!
CarvedInside29 Dec 2011 @ 16:06
Hello,
Sorry for responding so late. Glad you isolated the problem. Your UAC is set to default or higher? Have you checked with UAC disabled? My guess is that this is related to UAC.
Besides disabling UAC, maybe this will help to make it work on your normal account (if you wish so): search the windows forlder for hsmgr.exe and hsmgr64.exe (if you have x64 win) and select proprieties for each one and go to compatibility and check "Allow non-administators to run this program".
Vruk29 Dec 2011 @ 21:06
Just downloaded and tested v.1.41 (I always go for stable builds), and the sound quality is amazing! I finally remembered why I bought and (at first) loved my Xonar DX, music quality is exceptional!
I'll have to test how it works in movies, games, videos, etc. but so far I'm satisfied that there's no longer "bleeding" of 2-channel audio to my 5.1 setup; it pure, great stereo music!
The new graphics panel is a bit hard to get used to after two years, but it's not a big deal.
Two questions, if you don't mind - how does the new Xear 3D EX work? Is it the same old ASUS EAX-emulating feature?
Second, my audio card is hooked to a Denon AVR-1801 receiver that, I believe, is natively 24-bit. Should I set te default audio samples to 24-bit/44,1khz or up it to whatever is the maximum quality of the receiver (I've heard that bugs might appear with the drivers, OS, etc.)? Sorry, not a music guru, and I'd appreciate a tip from the guy making the drivers.
Thumbs up from me, I've been hoping someone would fix ASUS's messy drivers! 🙂
CarvedInside30 Dec 2011 @ 15:51
Asus EAX emulator (GX) is in fact Xear 3D.
You can use 24-bit without a problem at least driver wise. Be sure to select 24-bit output in the programs you use also (winamp, foobar2000, they all have it).
The thing is that most music is in 16-bit output, but there are some opinions stating that setting the audio output to 24-bit might actually improve the sound quality even if the files that are played are in 16-bit.
Just FYI, I didn't created these drivers from scratch, only modded them.

Hi all, I just got a set of Tritton PC 510 5.1 headphones and an Asus Xonar D2X soundcard for Christmas. It installed fine but I immediately noticed the reverb on the rear surround channel using the Asus drivers and quickly found these drivers which specifically say they fix the issue which is great.
However, after I've uninstalled the Asus drivers, rebooted, then try and install the UNi Xonar ones, (I've tried 1.41 and 1.50) I get a BSOD with "BAD_POOL_DATA" as soon as the files have finished extracting in the installer window. I've tried following the driver cleaning guide (even though I know it shouldn't be necessary with 1.41 and newer), but that makes no difference.
It's driving me nuts because BF3 sounds awful and that was the main reason for me getting these. I've tried with and without my onboard sound enabled and I've tried disconnecting everything but mouse and keyboard from my PC but it makes no difference.
My PC specs are: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64, Antec Truepower 750W, ASRock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3, Core i5 2500k, 8GB RAM, 2 x 1GB Palit GTX 460s in SLI, Asus Xonar D2X, OCZ Vertex 2E 120GB.
The machine is 100% rock solid and it's never had a BSOD before - it's just when I install these drivers. I'd really appreciate it if anyone could shed some light on it!
CarvedInside30 Dec 2011 @ 17:18
I think you are one of the firsts to actually get a blue screen just before installing. I have no idea why you get this. If the e-mail you typed is correct, I will send you the unpacked version of the driver and test it and see if you manage to install that.
Have you ticked any options in the installer? Tell me which asus driver version you installed and worked.
Ellis30 Dec 2011 @ 18:14
Wow the support here is way better than Asus - thanks for the fast response. Yes, the email I typed was correct. I've tried the default install options and then also C-Media control panel option - both give exactly the same error on install.
The only Asus driver I've installed is the latest one on the website - 7.12.8.1794
Please do email me the unpacked version and I'll try it and see what happens and report back.
BC0030 Dec 2011 @ 18:29
After installing Uni 1.41 (C-media audio panel option) I get both Asus default and C-media control panels loading at taskbar. I prefer the Asus one, so after unloading C-media at msconfig start programs, would I still get all pluses, like reduced DPC latency and so on?
CarvedInside31 Dec 2011 @ 18:27
Firstly with C-Media Audio panel option, you have access to both Audio Panels but only the C-Media is loaded, so something is wrong as they shouldn't both start. Uninstall and install again.
Yes, you get all the pluses if you disable C-Media Panel from loading, but better to load C-Media Panel when you need to change something instead of the Asus one.

I have a suggestion for anybody whos had weird system issues or bsod's/unexpected shut downs/exct, do the following.
start>run>cmd (or just cmd and enter in the search thing)
in the command window(black window you type in) type
"chkdsk /f" it will ask if you want to do the test next time you restart, type Y and hit Enter, then restart the system
if you have more then one hdd or partition you can do this for each of them(only windows boot partition should require a restart)
you do this by adding the drive letter after the command like this "chkdsk /r d:" where d: is the drive letter you want to test, you cah change that to e f g whatever (i have 6 hdd's)
IF your scan of the windows boot/system partition/drive comes up with alot of errors corrected, my advice is to rerun the same process but replace /f with /r so the command for the drive that had errors would be "chkdsk /r X:" where X is the drive letter, Oh yeah, and as always with these things you dont type the quote marks 🙂
Cant tell you how many times I have had this fix problems that people insisted ment windows needed reinstalled.....its really amazing 🙂
Ellis31 Dec 2011 @ 12:00
Thanks for the suggestion - I tried chkdsk /f through admin command prompt and rebooted but it found no problems at all. Tried re-installing 1.41 anyway but still got the BAD_POOL_DATA bsod. 🙁
CarvedInside31 Dec 2011 @ 18:29
I have sent you the unpack driver, try that.
Ellis02 Jan 2012 @ 01:13
Hi CarvedIns - I just tried the unpacked 1.41 version you very kindly sent me but it did exactly the same thing. However.... I think I found the cause of the problem!
I had OpenRA (Red Alert) installed on my system which I believe had inadvertently installed a version of OpenAL. I uninstalled OpenRA and OpenAL, then ran Driver Sweeper again to remove any Asus drivers left over again, followed by CC Cleaner which cleaned one Asus registry entry. I then rebooted, tried the drivers you emailed me and it's now working perfectly! I just played 5 mins of BF3 without it sounding like I had my head inside a metal bin - brilliant - thank you and Happy New Year to everyone!
CarvedInside31 Dec 2011 @ 18:29
Very good comment, maybe it will help somebody 🙂
