Hi and thanks AGAIN 🙂 CarvedInside for the drivers. Installed 1.60 with C-Media CP on win7x64 pro for Xonar DX. No issues while installing and runs fine.

[offtopic]@MasterFaster, do you still release Duke Nukem 3D packs ?[/offtopic]

@CarvedIns, i asked in previous pages, but i didn't find answer. I have Asus DX and 5.1 system but i never find way to get exactly same from all speakers and sub.

Probably you want the stereo upmix (or stereo surround or speaker fill), to hear the same from all speakers when listening from stereo sources. 1st you have to enable it during the installation of UNi Xonar drivers. Then from Asus Xonar Audio Center: a) for audio channels you choose 2. b) for speakers you choose 5.1. c) disable Dolby Pro Logic IIx

Irrelevant: This is not the place to discuss about Duke Nukem 3D 🙂

I don't know why you are saying you can get sound from the subwoofer, I am not sure how you have connected it, but normally, the front speakers and subwoofer will work even if the system is connected to a mp3 player (2 channel output). So I am not sure what the deal is here.

The thing is that stereo upmix on Win7 works slightly different from Win XP. On XP if you set the output to 6 channels you always get the upmix (with stereo upmix option checked).
While on Win7 it work if you set this settings in Xonar/Cmedia Audio Panel: audio channels:2 sound analog output:5.1 speakers , and not audio channels 6 and analog out 5.1. By selecting tthis your Windows and other applications will output the sound from 2.0 format to 5.1 speakers and not 5.1 format to 5.1 speakers.

The other alternative is to enable Dolby Pro Logic IIx and this should upmix the L & R signals to all the speakers.

Thanks guys, i exactly do like you said, but i not satisfied with results, on XP that much more work like i expected. I try to connect front speakers only to mp3 player and i get sound only from that 2 front satelites not woofer. from woofer i have 3 pairs of stereo jacks witch i connected to xonar in proper way like like on user manual for 5.1. It's not problem i can simulate XP upmix in foobar using channel mixer plugin but on youtube or other players i can't get stereo sound on all satelites including woofer to sound equally like on xp. Is there any other solution for windows 7. For example in realtek card i found soultion to tweak output jacks to be all to Front Speaker, in this way no upmix is need, because all jacks have same source.

@MasterFaster, ofcourse, how i can contact you for more info about DN3D :). Thanks

I did a trick that up-mix the stereo whether I enable up-mix setting in the installing process or not with my HT eClaro. Just go to the control panel-sound-speaker-properties-in the advanced tab just set the default format to 16bit-48kHz or 24bit-48kHz (in case the 16 bit is working). Of course, you have to set in Xonar/Cmedia Audio Panel: audio channels:2 sound analog output:5.1 speakers, not audio channels 6 and analog out 5.1 before doing this trick. For some unknown reasons, my eClaro only accepts 44.1 KHz and 48 KHz for stereo up-mixing. You can try checking this trick on your Asus Xonar. I've read in a forum that even the Realtek onboard soundcard grant the (stereo filling) up-mixing if the user set in 16 bit only.

No sorry. It doesn't look like anything can be done. You will have to wait till I get my hands on a newer build of the audio drivers(>1800).

Hey guys, I'm wondering if my asus xonar dgx is working with the new drivers. When I install them I get a message that I should connect an "uni xonar audio device" right after the old drivers have been sweeped. The card works (besides game crashes, static noise when scrolling/loading a new page) with the asus drivers which came along with the card.

Send me an email to this address with XonarDGX.inf files from Win7 and WinXP drivers directory and with cmudaxp.ini only from Win7 , and I will make a new build that should work for you.

Just want to know if the ASIO output in this driver supports Bit-perfect?

I'm using Essence STX, and the output switcher seems not working properly.

When "Speaker" output mode is chosen, the sound is still output by headphone, even though the relay on the sound card is "clicking". The only solution is to left the option as "Speaker Output" restart the computer.

At this time, the output mode cannot be changed, or it will be stuck in headphone output mode again.

Read my posts above..There are a couple of us that already complained about this...
There is another workaround without restarting pc...Disable/enable the sound from Device manger...

Please help : Sometimes the control panel doesn't load properly and some features can't be changed or are invisible. Worse sometimes it doesn't start with Windows at all.

The only thing that can bypass is :
    - Exit the Uni xonar audio panel and launch the Asus Standard one
    - Restart the system
    - Or reinstall it.

This never happend to me and didn not heard of this. But the only thing I could think of is to add a shortcut to Start->Programs that would essentially restart the C-media Audio Panel (note that the "Uni xonar audio panel" tile of it is a mistype). If you are interested in such a (possible) workaround, I can send you the file so you can test it.

Here is something to test, for Xonar ST/STX that have problems with the front panel etc.

I noticed that in the official Xonar DG build 1794 driver there is a tool in:
    PCI-DG-111007-7.12.8.1794(W7-ER)ProgramPanelType.exe

The PanelType.exe allows you to change the Front Panel type between AC97 and HD. Thus use it to change your front panel type, according to what you have (just in case run PanelType.exe as admin).

    Here is the PanelType.exe http://www.mirrorcreator.com/files/3PESOMYA/Panel...

else download the full official driver from ASUS (get the file PCI_DG_7_12_8_1794_W7.rar)

I don't know if this will fix you problem or not, but please try it and let us know.

    About ASIO

I'm using UniXonar drivers version 1.53

In the official Xonar DX manual PDF, the ASIO Control Panel shows different stuff, and the latency can be set downto 2ms, dunno if the official ASUS Xonar DX drivers allow that, I don't recall. Also the sample rate setting is missing from the ASIO control panel, I can only adjust latency and bit depth.

Why I can only set the latency on the ASIO control panel as 10ms (minimum), are the official drivers better in this regard?

Also the ASIO control panel lets you select 32bit, wth? what's up with that, thought the hardware only supported 24bit.

The Asio presented in the manual is an older version named (Asio 1.0). Now in Asio 2.0 the sample rate is automatically changed based on the sample rate of the audio files played.
Regarding latency, latest version of Asio 2.0.1.0 changed minimum from 2 to 10 ms, you can reinstall the UNi Xonar drivers with the "ASIO downgrade fom 2.0.1.0 to 2.0.0.7" option checked, this will allow you to select 2 ms latency.

Some Xonar cards support 32 bit output so thats why thats there.

Ok, thanks for your reply! is it worth to reinstall the drivers with ASIO 2.0.0.7 just for the lower latency? why is that latency setting not avaliable for the newer ASIO version?

Hi.I just installed your drivers (1.60) for my d2x.Impressive.I think it sounds better now and also it fixed some problems with some game that didn't want to work in 5.1 channel mode.Thanks.

Tried the 1.60 drivers on my Essence STX. Drivers themselves installed absolutely fine with no test mode needed and audio was working perfectly. The only problem I had was you cannot switch back to ’2 Speaker’ from ‘Headphone’ (not just the FP headphone as the known bugs suggested). The only way you can fix it is to set it back to Speakers and then reboot otherwise the audio plays from the Headphones only no matter what you have selected (Headphone, 2 Speaker, etc).

My speakers are connected to the RCA/Phono connections and my Headphones in the headphone input. As I like to switch between the two often, I have had to re-install 1.53 for the time being until fixed.

    Anyone else having this problem?

If the driver doesn't support it, then only C-Media can add this.

I plan to use Cubase for recording synths etc... so latency would be an issue. Is the 2ms setting of ASIO 2.0.0.7 real?, is there any drawback of using this older version over the 2.0.0.10?
