Hi, I want to report abug, with I recently discovered.
I have installed the 1.60 drivers on a Asus D2 soundcard. After using my computer I allways put my computer in standby modus. After waking the computer again, there is no sound anymore. (Audio can be played, but there is no sound coming from the speakers).
After rebooting the computer my sound is working again.
I have reinstalled the 1.53 driver and with this driver there is no problem, sound after standby modus is working.
I am using windows 7 64bit.
Omar10 May 2012 @ 03:01
HI FROM ITALY asus is releasing new Xonar sound card and drivers ROG Phoebus if posssible mod and use new software with support for Dolby ® Home Theater 4 and GX3.0 with the current Xonar? or with the most powerful xonar HDVA? integrate it options with the drives UNI Xonar? thank you
CarvedInside10 May 2012 @ 15:24
We will see. I think the ROG Xonar drivers will have a different architecture. Better not to get your hopes up.
Probably GX 3.0 will work just as badly as GX 2.5 (current).
Omar11 May 2012 @ 21:45
Let's hope not... because they are really horrible GX2.5 thanks
Alexa11 May 2012 @ 23:41
Is not posibble to be modded...Xonar Phoebus have hd audio codec(other xonar have standard PCI ) and new driver arhitecture.I can try to port new xonar/cmedia APO effects to all xonar cards.
Look to this test:Xonar DS vs Xonar Phoebus http://www.pcaxe.com/hardver/audio-video-karte/as...
If this is true my xonar dx can beat xonar phoebus in quality and quantity 😉
Xonar D2X,Essence and Xense is alpha and omega for Phoebus :P.
Omar12 May 2012 @ 00:27
My card is HD native is HDVA1.3 the Xonar phoebus is down in hardware spec i have Deluxe version with separated card have 8 analog channel more powerfull in db120 + and specification is high support DTS HD dolby HD the phoebus is limited on Dolby respect phoebus and most Xonar AV200 series chip only difference in teory is the chip CMI8788 PCi native and CMI8888 native PCI express There should be no problems....
CarvedInside10 May 2012 @ 15:49
Sorry, can't help you with this.
elfo12 May 2012 @ 13:49
hi to everyone!my card is a xonar d1 and i have installed the uni driver c-media.but now from the xonar audio center no one of the dsp mode is working, and also if i set virtual speaker 5.1 or 7.1 nothing change.
CarvedInside12 May 2012 @ 16:47
Which OS do you have? Have you tried this with older drivers like 1.41 or 1.5x ? Might be related to 1.60 drivers.
elfo12 May 2012 @ 20:18
hi,i have seven x64.tryng installing uni 1.53 and everything works, but after the restart of the computer it doesn't work again....
elfo13 May 2012 @ 11:37
tring to installing again and everything now is working flawless with uni 1.61 c-media.
Michael Reed13 May 2012 @ 19:32
1.61? I can't seem to find these...
nvm 1.601 is what I assume you meant.
[email protected]13 May 2012 @ 21:11
Thank you for the updated driver. I still need to
Start ===> run ===> msconfig ===> boot ===> boot option ===> safe boot
and install the driver or it just hangs on me. Installs in seconds in safe mode.
C-Media panel crashes and panel closes when clicking mixer tab. Need to log off to restart.
Regards
CarvedInside13 May 2012 @ 22:11
For the C-Media Panel crashes try to do a driver clean (updated guide in FAQ & Troubleshooting page). Had this problem before with older versions?
So you are managing to install the drivers only in safe mode? Since when does the install only works in safe mode? Are you installing with or without test mode?
Nanook32114 May 2012 @ 13:26
I unstalled the previous drivers and ran driver clean proir to install option but found nothing.
Yes installed in safe mode. Test mode was not enabled.
Regards
CarvedInside14 May 2012 @ 16:49
I was suggesting to do this again it usually fixes things like these.
Nanook32115 May 2012 @ 04:47
reinstalled in safe mode and mixer now works. if i install in windows, not safe mode, it just sits there forever until i kill the process. If i wait a long while it comes back with some error. This has been happen on my machine and your mods for last 3 releases or so. Not a biggy since safe mode is my work around and it works fine once rebooted.
regards
CarvedInside15 May 2012 @ 20:57
Ok, glad it works now. I want to ask something from you. When you will install a newer version of the drivers could you try installing the drivers following the guide here (possible solution 1) and report if it did work without going in safe mode. This is for my information. Thanks.
Michael Reed16 May 2012 @ 00:09
Thank you very much nanook, that worked perfectly for me 😀
CarvedInside17 May 2012 @ 01:55
I have to ask you, are you saying the safe mode tip worked for you too?
Zwitterion14 May 2012 @ 22:56
The v1601 will not install completely on Win 7 x64.Or the up-mix isn't functioning. My HT Receiver only sees two output channels now. I am seeing no further link to v1600 which I apparently need atm. Test Mode was enabled for Signature issues.
MasterFaster15 May 2012 @ 15:12
1. Test mode is not needed
2. v1.60 and 1.601 have exactly the same driver
Zwitterion15 May 2012 @ 15:50
Yeah I thought the driver was the same. After six attempts all channels worked in Dolby/DTS ;just not PCM. On the seventh attempt PCM began to function. As far as Test Mode is concerned;it is always enabled because I use other modded drivers. I just added it for more info to you in case.

Automatic upmixing has never worked on Xonar in Win7 because the Vista/7 Windows audio stack prevents the driver from knowing how many channels the source program is actually intending to output.
Zwitterion15 May 2012 @ 17:08
Worked fine for me 'til after v1.53?

I guess that "upmixing" must mean different things to each of us then 🙂

Try the new Asus Audio Center v0.3.0.42 from DGX build 1800 driver
AsusAudioCenter http://www.mirrorcreator.com/files/09K3JHTT/AsusA...
Unpack the rar and copy AsusAudioCenter.exe to
C:Program FilesASUS Xonar DX AudioCustomapp
Make sure that you close Asus Audio Center first, before copying the new file.
I don't know if this will fix the problems with Xonar Essence ST/STX cards.
There were no other changes between DSX and DGX build 1800 driver. Only Asus Audio Center is updated to v0.3.0.42. You can get the DGX driver from: http://www.asus.com/Multimedia/Audio_Cards/Xonar_...
Of course the .cat, .inf, .ini files of the drivers are different.

Problem “Hata Region Unload”.
Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1, ASUS Xonar Essence ST.
MasterFaster16 May 2012 @ 22:31
What the hell is this message?
If you do a quick google search, you will find that this message (maybe) is related with virus or trojan infection. I would suggest to do a full scan to your system for viruses. Try also Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free or any other antispyware program. And also scan your system with AVG or Avira Free Antivirus or Microsoft Security Essentials or any other antivirus software.

many poeple had this error.. THis means that everyone with this error is infected ?

CarvedInside17 May 2012 @ 01:50
If you guys(with ST/STX) tried the new packs from Masterfaster or just the panel, i don't think its a virus, just a error generated from Asus Panel. It did happen with UNi Xonar 1.60 remember?, and I fixed it in a newer build 1.601 .
Its a problem with the skin files that are changed for ST/STX since the new drivers from Asus.
MasterFaster17 May 2012 @ 02:27
There a quick way to verify this:
Unplug all hard disks, take an old empty hard disk and plug it, format it and install Windows (do not use custom editions, use the original CD/DVD from Microsoft), and then install my driver pack or the UNi Xonar 1.60 (not the 1.601). If you get the Hata error then it's a problem with the Asus Audio Center, if not then you've got a Trojan/Virus.
MasterFaster16 May 2012 @ 19:39
I'm searching for a way to add a modified .inf to the .cat file of the xonar driver. Is there a reliable way for this?
qaz17 May 2012 @ 09:06
There are. But then your new .cat would be unsigned, so nothing really changed from unsigned .inf.
MasterFaster17 May 2012 @ 14:19
I know that. What I asked is a way to add the .inf to the .cat (sign it), but without invalidating any other file.
qaz17 May 2012 @ 21:04
Of course not. It's the essence of signatures – validate that data is unchanged and provided by certain source.

It means exactly what it says: The receiver didn't see 5.1 until I used an old modified .inf file on the seventh attempt. Don't be such a horse's ass about it.

I'm not being an ass. I genuinely believe that we are not on the same page here as far as what we each mean by "upmixing".
What are the # of input channels and output device settings that you are using to achieve upmixing in Windows 7?
CarvedInside17 May 2012 @ 01:54
He wasn't anything, I believe you are misinterpreting what hunterz0 said.

I am pretty sure that my pc is not infected.Only with 1800 drivers i saw this error..I never had with any other program or driver version for the ST.It was fixed like CarvedIns said with a newer revision..If it was a trojan it should be still there with or without the new version of his driver..
Your "quick" way to check is not that quick...Only formating takes a while and install windows takes a while too...
"While" + "a while" doesn't result in "quick" from my calculations 😛
MasterFaster18 May 2012 @ 01:45
It's quicker than a full system scan for viruses. And you can use quick format. 😀

Hi again, @CarvedIns
I've been following this latest 1800 (1.6x) driver release via this thread and would like to know if the actual sound quality is improved and the various features of your uni driver working better in Win7.
I have 1.51 on Win764 and have no issues as far as I know and am happy with it. Audio quality and features working well while running normal day to day.
These couple of things matter the most but I have got a little lost in all the win8 and various other side topics. Thank you for the work you put in.
CarvedInside20 May 2012 @ 16:35
Hi,
I my opinion sound quality is the same and everything on my end is the same. If you don't have problems then I guess there is no need to update the drivers yet.
kadopt21 May 2012 @ 01:27
The Xonar D2X does not support 32bit float right? If I set it in ffdshow audio processor to 32bit float it does not connect to the filter and if I change it to 32bit float during playback it outputs distorted sound.
w7 x64 sp1, xonar d2x v1.60.
qaz21 May 2012 @ 12:37
32bit float works for me on DX, so likely blame your software.
Simon Bell22 May 2012 @ 03:04
I was having real problems having upgraded my DAW from XP to Vista Business. I was suffering from stuttering and clicks on a XZonar DS 7.1 PCI card. Version 1800 solved all my problems and system works perfectly. Accpet this small donation with many thanks
CarvedInside24 May 2012 @ 14:48
Glad my drivers where of help. I don't know what happened but no donation came through these days.
