Dear Alexa, what about D1 64 bit win-8?

Driver for Xonar D1 http://www.mediafire.com/?yafl3i69fgis333
---------------------------
Alex23 Sep 2012 @ 10:15
Dear Alexa,
Unfortunately this one doesn't work (Xonar D1, Win 8x64 Pro). I've removed 1.62 (which worked perfecly) and tried yours (http://www.mediafire.com/?yafl3i69fgis333). Setup goes very fast, showing installation of Asus Xonar driver only (without any applications) and after reboot there are no Asus D1 in device manager and no sound accordingly.
Alexa23 Sep 2012 @ 15:33
Ok,i will update all driver components for windows 8 ,include 32 bit support and adding some enhancements for speakers and microphone.Drivers will be finished next week for all cards.
Alex23 Sep 2012 @ 17:48
Great, thanks again and waiting for your news...
HI22 Sep 2012 @ 20:06
Dear Alexa, what about ST 32 bit win-7?
Alexa22 Sep 2012 @ 21:37
32 bit will be supported in final version.
semtexxl22 Sep 2012 @ 20:15
Hm this is very interesting how all the newest drivers are released only for Xonar DGX ...1800 version and now 1807 for win 8. Strange that nothing official is available for higher models like D2X, ST, STX ?! Any info about this strange updating 'technique' which is asus using?
CarvedInside22 Sep 2012 @ 22:13
It was always this way. They could be doing this because of a business rationale. DGX & DSX are the newest cards that they have, this means that they are more likely to be reviewed now than their previous cards, the same applies to the sales , for the time being there could be more people interested in DGX or DSX cards than the previous cards, because most of the ones interested in a "older" card already bought it by now. So they have to give their best, for now..
semtexxl22 Sep 2012 @ 23:38
I'm testing your latest 1.62 beta driver with that new 1807 release (most likely they will put it for other models in some time for their official driver) However it's seems that my bass redirection problems for higher sample rates than 44.1 like 48,96 and 192KHz are all gone! I just played some hi-rez files after updating to these beta drivers and to my amazement the bass was redirected..oh yeah FINALLY! I have always suspected the asus driver for this issue and now it's finally gone. I hope that I'm not speaking too soon..I know something other will show up in the future 😉 It looks like asus put some more serious drivers for this time. Of course without your speaker upmix fix they would be useless for me. Great job.
BTW I'm testing on win 7 ultimate 32bit with latest foobar 1.1.15 on WASAPI push mode output.
CarvedInside24 Sep 2012 @ 01:07
Can you do me a favor and try 1.54 drivers and see how bass redirection works there. And by bass redirection you mean using Flex bass?
I want also to know how are you using "re-enabled stereo upmix" option ticked or unticked?
semtexxl24 Sep 2012 @ 17:29
Sure no problem I'll try and report back. Please be patient.
semtexxl24 Sep 2012 @ 19:44
Yes by “bass redirection” I meant FlexBass option turned on.
Ok here are my results for both 1.54 and 1.62 unixonar package tested on:
Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit, foobar2000 1.1.15 with different sound output modes. (DS, KS, WASAPI 3.0 push and event mode), 16/44.1 and 24/96 FLAC files.
1.54 (7.12.8.1795 driver showed in info)
Installation mode: Normal - Asus Audio Center
Re-enabled stereo upmix: unticked
results for FlexBass:
DS (Direct sound): both 16/44.1 & 24/96 working
KS (Kernel streaming): 16/44.1 work, 24/96 doesn't work
WASAPI (push & event mode):16/44.1 work, 24/96 doesn't work
__________________________________________________
1.62 (8.0.8.1807 driver showed in info)
Installation mode: Normal - Asus Audio Center
Re-enabled stereo upmix: unticked
results for FlexBass: Much easier here..everything working on DS, KS & WASAPI.
I must also mention that on non working bass redirection with 24/96 files (1.54 package) there was also not responding spectrum visualization in Asus Audio Center. By “spectrum visualization“ I meant this: http://i46.tinypic.com/nb94l2.png
Of course here is proper responding one. 🙂 This is for the first time I upgraded from my beloved 1.41 version to something higher. New driver is not only solving my eternal issue but also providing great sound with better separation. IMO.
CarvedInside25 Sep 2012 @ 19:11
Thank you for the detailed information!
Alex22 Sep 2012 @ 21:08
Thanks a lot!

Carved can you add “Xonar enhancements mods” tab on your blog where i can post my mods?
Would actually like to see the enhancements folded into Carved's package if possible so that I can play with the Dolby stuff without giving up the low latency stuff...
CarvedInside23 Sep 2012 @ 19:38
Alexa, yes I will do that, was in fact thinking about this. Will make a dedicated page for your enhancements.
And like hunterz0 suggests , maybe now its a good time to implement your mods in UNi Xonar drivers (as an option) and I could also sign them for test mode usage for those who need this.
Thunderbolt23 Sep 2012 @ 03:04
anyone able to comment on the sound quality with the new drivers for xonar essence stx via wasapi @win7 64-bit (speakers)? is it worth upgrading to 1807 drivers with 1.62/1.54 ?
zuzer24 Sep 2012 @ 08:38
don't know about wasapi, but with asio best sounding (for ST on win7 x64) is... http://maxedtech.com/2010/07/19/asus-xonar-unifie...
I don't know why unixonar 1.60 (1800) sounds different compared to modified official driver (1800), installed files are the same.
unixonar imho is not as good as modified official driver (I modify it to 1796 and 1807 from unixonar files), it sounds more harsher...

Reposting here as suggested:
Greetings!
Thanks for your hard work on these superb drivers. My problem isn’t related to theses drivers, but I’m hoping someone here might have a clue.
The headphone out on my Xonar Xense(s) goes out of whack. i.e. one channel loses volume and becomes very faint, whereas the other channel seems to be fine.
The 1st Xense I had worked fine for about an year before losing volume in one channel. I RMAd it and Asus sent me a new card, which worked fine for a month or so but then it also lost volume on one headphone channel. I tried the card on different computers also, but the problem persisted.
I RMAd again, and this time Asus sent me an obviously used card. It worked fine for a day or two, but then lost volume in the right channel. There was a lot of crashing also, which seems to be somewhat rectified with your drivers. The funny thing is, after I installed your drivers, the volume loss changed side to the left channel.
Has this happened to anyone else using a Xense? I’m at my wits end wondering how this could happen to 3 cards.
Thanks very much!

I have 7.1/2.1 speakers. Xonar DX 7.1. The sound from my Front speaker's(Green) jack is completely gone. I get sound from rear and side, but my front doesnt work. I got that issue few times but after I restart it was OK. Now i cant fix it. Im trying to change settings with the Audio Center, but without any effect. Also tried to reinstall drivers again without any effect. I noticed that in the Recording tab, the Wave bar is moving when im listening to something. I dont find that normal. Please help. Thanks and sorry for my english.
CarvedInside24 Sep 2012 @ 13:16
Try connecting rear speakers to front see if its not a jack problem. It could be that your front output has a hardware malfunction, to confirm this try your card in another PC.
achkar24 Sep 2012 @ 14:07
Ok thanks i will try this. What do you think about the Wave bar moving when listening to something? http://imageshack.us/a/img266/9059/xonar.jpg
achkar24 Sep 2012 @ 14:08
I will try in another PC, because its working. But like i said i had this problem before, but after restart it was OK.
CarvedInside24 Sep 2012 @ 14:35
I don't know , might be normal behavior, don't have time to check this out I might try later.
Alexa24 Sep 2012 @ 11:36

Here is my mod of 1807 driver for XonarDX for Win7: http://www.mediafire.com/file/lbl599f9vc3vxq1/180...
Features:
1) Only Dolby Home Theater added (Creative chaining was buggy for me, so it was removed along with VIA).
2) Both x64 and x86 versions supported (though x86 is not tested).
3) Everything is properly signed (except the .inf that can't be signed, but that is not so important as it's used only during installation).
4) Does not open security holes (driver signature check disabling) and doesn't change other system settings that can cause incompatibility with some software (like Alexa's mods).
Installation:
1) Depending on your system
signtool catdb viahduaa64.cat
or
signtool catdb viahduaa32.cat
2) In Device Manager choice Update Driver Software for the XonarDX and point to the .inf location, accept that you trust unsigned .inf.
3) Install DolbyHomeTheater.msi
Uninstallation:
1) Uninstall Dolby Home Theater.
2) In Device Manager choice Uninstall for XonarDX and check Uninstall the driver software.
3) Depending on your system
signtool catdb /r viahduaa64.cat
or
signtool catdb /r viahduaa32.cat

Thank you for this mod. This is exactly what I am looking for.
I just want to use DHTv4, nothing else.
However, I have got a DGX. How can I use DHTv4 with my DGX and v1800 driver?
qaz28 Sep 2012 @ 16:50
Here you are: http://www.mediafire.com/?laqm938qa3tov55
Actually you can do it easily yourself if you compare original XonarDX.inf, XonarDGX.inf and modified XonarDX.inf.
As for v1800 - just overwrite the same files except .inf from any original version you want.
enoch0o26 Sep 2012 @ 00:02
These drivers wouldn't install on my Xonar DG w/ win7 64.They give message "plug in audio-device".Back to 1.61 in test mode for me. 🙁
