Yes but they work with the built in sound if I disable the DGX card, I'll update my mouse and keyboard drivers and do some further research aswell. Thank you for help 🙂

I just can't get stereo upmix to work when i setup 6/6 6 input 6 output..
Sound on rear speakers is soo weak, that its not acceptable.. And center speaker does not produce any sound at all
I tried with Dll/1.62 addon cpanel and with upmix fix .Both are just as bad..
If i switch to 2/6 then i get sound as it should, but that is not upmix..in that way i have to switch 2/6 and 6/6 every time i change media i listen/watch..

That's how stereo upmix works, you could read about it in the FAQ.

Well i can't accept that .On regular asus control panel upmix is working perfectly both ways. The only reason why i was using Uni is cause of that sound enhance from normal asus preventing bluestacks to produce sound.

Which panels have you tried with Uni Xonar drivers? Do you have GX enabled with the original drivers? Uni Xonar drivers should perform just like original drivers, maybe it's a indirect effect of GX being disabled by default with UNi drivers. Install Uni Xonar drivers with Normal configuration, and stereo upmix checked, and afterwords enable GX in the Asus Panel and see if it the sound is still to weak or is the same as it was with the original drivers. If that's not the cause, I don't know maybe try a different version as it is possible that for audio driver version included in the package you've tested to behave differently.

The Stand alone apps pack can't be downloaded. Chrome blocks it by saying it contains dangerous malware.

Hi. Is there a way to forcibly limit the volume output capability of the STX? With only 10% volume on the lowest output setting it's already deafening and there has been several occasions where software glitches (not the fault of the drivers) caused the windows volume to spike in to 100%.

So would a finer gain control via editing a file or something be possible? I know the STX II advertises an IEM option .

You can lower the volume of each channel thought Asus or C-Media Panel options. For Asus Panel, you can lower the LEFT and RIGHT sliders under mixer tab. For C-Media Panel you need to press the Volume icon on the Output Device pane under Main Settings tab.

Interesting but even with C-Media panel install pack Potplayer is upmixing everything to 5.1 with wasapi exclusive mode with other settings (input, sample rate...) set to “same as input” ?! Normal “shared” mode is ok. Strange behavior. I was trying this for fun as I've using foobar always in the same wasapi exclusive mode and everything was/is working flawlessly. Anybody has the same experience on win7 with D2X card?

Are we sure these drivers work correctly? Today I thought I'd install the Asus official drivers for my D2 instead and the sound is actually clearer. I think the FlexBass setting on Unixonar isn't working as intended so the sound gets muddy because of the excessive bass (I had my suspicions about that after I installed a SBZx on the same box and testing several settings there). Either that or Unixonar messes with the Dolby algorithms perhaps?

Interesting post with those muddy bass observation. This is somehow my eternal problem. However like you said official driver is working ok? I'm having similar experience. It is like the bass is going in some strange “circle” of amplification and then back to almost none. Same fact goes to overall sound volume. Sometimes it sounds so pushed forward and loud, rough and in time again soft, balanced (like it should?) It is like my sound signature is constantly changing and I have no idea what is “right”. Although this is present at least for me also with official driver and I'm not quite sure what may cause this problem. I ruled out PSU (it was my first candidate) Now it is completely new Corsair “gold” certified 550W PSU. Way more that my old crap system needs anyway (but it was cheap 🙂 ) and the problem is the same. I think my previous card (Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Live! 5.1) had same issues as well. The last thing I think about is motherboard. I pray to god for some driver “only” issue.

I haven't made any changes that could cause this. UNi Xonar uses newer audio drivers that you might have included in the official Asus release so its possible that these new drivers might behave differently or buggy sometimes compared to older ones. One thing you could try to install the UNi Xonar drivers with the same audio driver version like the official drivers that seem to be working fine (audio driver version is the 1794, 1800, 1815 and so on number).
Did you use any Dolby options since you mention them? Which Uni Xonar drivers have you tried and which version where the official drivers you've installed? And your OS is?

As it is written in UNi Xonar features page, U7 card is not supported in UNi Xonar drivers. There are no alternatives.

Hi there, firstly thanks very much for developing these drivers. I realise that you are putting this out there in the community at the option for users to pay, thanks again. I have just installed the drivers on my PC, I have switched off the onboard HD audio controller, uninstalled any Microsoft audio drivers and have used the .bat and Driver Sweeper steps to remove all ASUS drivers, reinstall, restart, replace etc etc (I even replaced the DX with a cheaper DSX - thinking 'less risk'), I have a 6 month old Logitech 5.1 Surround Sound set of speakers which uses the green, orange, black cables (it also offers RCA sockets) and an ASUS P8H61-M LX Mobo, Windows 8.1. I've even tried compatibility mode and just cannot get this system to work. I can play music through the centre, sub-woofer, front-speakers but only really dim noise from the rear speakers, I notice that the if I adjust the rear speaker volumes in the ASUS Audio Centre it actually adjusts the volume for the front speakers, so the sound card or software obviously can't distinguish between them. I am so disappointed in ASUS and have already spent so much time on this. It's driving me crazy. Please help!

Hi. How do you upmix your music from 2 channels to 5.1 channels? I've written about stereo upmix in the FAQ. I think this is your problem.

I've got a problem that I just can't figure out. I've got an Asux Xonar sound card with the uni Xonar drivers installed from this site. Everything was working great, and then I did a reformat and reinstall of windows. Now about every 5 to 7 seconds sound will cut in and out. It does it in music and games. I've looked at all the settings in both the Windows Control Panel for Sound as well as the setting in the Xonar audio center, and no matter what I tweak I can't resolve it.

Nothing physically changed in my system. It was just a simple reformat and reinstall.

Which OS do you have? Have you tried different UNi Xonar drivers? How is you DPC latency? Do you have GX turned off?

So.. this post took me half the day to figure out and it won't be short. Beware: lot's of links are retrieved from the wayback machine which is not an akamai cdn.

All started by reading on wikipedia that C-media based chips used to support Sensaura audio extension and 3D algorithms thanks to an agreement. (http://web.archive.org/web/20020603205306/http://www.cmedia.com.tw/news/e-sensaura.htm)
As usual, the more bossing and evil company ever existed in the PC audio world could not fail to spoil this. And so Creative Technology bought Sensaura back in 2003.
Anyway C-media license keep going on, but it couldn't last forever. And in September 2008 it ended. (http://web.archive.org/web/20081231002416/http://www.cmedia.com.tw/?q=en/company_news)

As soon as they could (judging by how stringent they had been in the announcement) all Sensaura technologies were removed from drivers. (cool pdf inbound: http://web.archive.org/web/20060228042934/http://www.cmedia.com.tw/doc/Xear%203D.pdf)
Now as rule, I wouldn't be really worried, given that the greatest audio API of the century is already dead and gone for more than a decade... but a review from X-bit labs really stressed how Sensaura tech made a great difference in the overall gaming experience and surround accuracy of Xear3D. (http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/multimedia/display/asus-xonar-essence-stx_6.html)

So.. I was wondering.. Mr. CarvedInside.. wouldn't be possible to add it back to the drivers? I already spent 3 hours probing the net for older drivers. And I'm not talking about my Xonar DX drivers, but -hopefully- the c-media ones you use to work with. Let me post some links.
    http://web.archive.org/web/20071019230809/http://www.cmedia.com.tw/forums/viewtopic.php?t=863&postdays=0&postorder
    http://web.archive.org/web/20071019230809/http://www.cmedia.com.tw/forums/viewtopic.php?t=863&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=60&sid#4118
    http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.cmediadrivers.info/*
ftp://www.club-3d.com/Theatron/ (This includes Club3D c-media based sound cards.. but I couldn't find accurate sources about their use use of CMI8788 chip)

Then, I think I ended. I would just to link some goodies I found.
http://www.ixbt.com/multimedia/sensaura-tech.html and http://pclab.pl/art17707-16.html are the only precise articles describing the licensed technologies I could found. (C-media should have supported every Sensaura specs afaik). Unfortunately they are either in Russian or in Polish. English editors seems to have been very skinny on the argument (http://www.devhardware.com/c/a/Sound-Cards/Audio-Hardware/10/ at the bottom)

"Sensaura CRL3D HRTF 3D positional sound enhancement with multi-drive" engine was used until the aforementioned end of contract. (http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/multimedia/display/asus-xonar_11.html). Funnily it was introduced in 1999 (http://web.archive.org/web/19990508190931/http://www.crl.co.uk/wcr/datashee/ds-3daud.htm)
Last but not least I finally discovered why when I install sound card drivers (including yours) I have this apparently meaningless pcm file (.\Customapp\GX30\3D_Helicopter.wav)
It seems it was one of the various asset cmedia took from Sensaura and it was originally inside a tech demo (http://www.ixbt.com/multimedia/razer-barracuda-ac1.shtml). No explanation for its stay up to our days though.

    Thanks for your time!
and btw when I'm talking of the greatest audio API ever I'm talking of Aureal3D 😉

Hi, I just bought the Asus Xonar DSX card as my Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatality Pro was having driver issues in Windows 8.1 and causing it to take almost 1.5 minutes to boot up. With this new card, Windows 8.1 boots up in 12 seconds even without fast boot enabled. Anyway I was a little confused on what settings I should be using with these drivers, the Xonar DSX and my Creative S700 Gigaworks 7.1 surround sound speakers. I found in the FAQ's that I have to set the driver to 2 channel and speakers to 7.1 to get stereo upmix, but should my setting always be set to this since I am using an analog speaker system? I mainly listen to music, do school work and play games on my system, but I have not tried this with any games yet. The games I play are mainly WoW and ID/Valve games on Steam. I have only done testing with music using Windows Media Player's default settings to test weather it was working as I plan to reinstall Windows 8.1 later this weekend. One thing I have noticed right off is that the volume and the bass seem to be lower with this card as compared to the Creative X-fi card I was using.

Also when installing the drivers, if I choose the C-Media Panel without the GX settings enabled, can I enable them later when I play a game or no? I have tried both the Asus panel and C-media panel, but I don't seem to be missing anything with the C-Meda panel except the GX and Hi-fi buttons. It seems to load faster as you pointed out so I thought I might use it when I reinstall Windows next time.

    Hello!

I have Xonar DGX Essence PCIE. I have been using cheap headphones (using AV jacks), until now I bought DT770 120ohm, but cannot get any sound out of any headphone jack. I have installed latest UNi Xonar drivers with Low DPC Latency (no control panels). Audio output can be changed with Asus Xonar Control Panel, but then there will be DPC latency. I don't want to have control panels.

Is there any little tool or application, what can switch audio output easily? And also manage ohms? Standalone pack has too many features, I only need to switch audio output and ohm amount.
