Well I did notice some random sound stutter (periodically) while watching some YouTube videos on Windows 10, so I think these drivers may need an update, I am using a Xonar DGX card.
Danny Damsky31 Jul 2015 @ 00:34
I actually went ahead and installed Windows 10 and yeah I know what you're talking about. You can fix this by setting the sample rate to 44.1 khz
BlueMoonPup31 Jul 2015 @ 05:27
Ah thanks, I will try that then, hopefully just for temporary fix.
I want at least 48Khz back eventually, else I may as well use on board. XD
Danny Damsky31 Jul 2015 @ 07:04
Actually there is barely any difference between sample rates, what makes a sound card better than onboard is the fact that is has a better DAC and a better headphone amplifier to drive more demanding headphones. That and sound cards are also less prone to electrical interference (= less noise). It is just a temporary fix though, since the official sound drivers for win10 aren't out yet.
Aidan35706 Aug 2015 @ 17:45
I have this same problem on my STX II, however, I get the problem with it set to 44.1KHz in the first place, and have to switch between it and 92KHz several times before it stops.
uk_uk31 Jul 2015 @ 09:35
try the edge browser. no stuttering for me with this browser
Naspear01 Aug 2015 @ 12:17
Seems fine so far for me at all 3 rates using the DX.
Pat31 Jul 2015 @ 01:45
So far my Xonar DX runs great on Windows 10 with the latest Unified Drivers. Card is set to 44.1 khz and 24bit.No Difference to Windows 7.
CarvedInside01 Aug 2015 @ 21:37
Thanks for the feedback Saber Rider. π

Hi, i just install Win 10 , i have Xonar Dg card in my pc, i want to use my front panel jack for my headset, so i download FPswitch and it work i have sound and i can talk on skype, But if i try to play music in the background on youtube, people im talking to on skype hear perfectly my music like i stream it to them ... how can i fix that ! Thanks !
CarvedInside01 Aug 2015 @ 21:07
In Windows Volume->Recording devices make sure you as Microphone selected as default device and disable Stereo Mix.
Jeff02 Aug 2015 @ 07:46
Thanks it fix the problem , but now i have an other problem with my Optical system, i cant get sound out of it , i plug my system with my other PC and work fine, in my sound panel i have S/PDIF Pass-Throught device as default and i see the green meter go up and down, in Uni xonar program i have S/PDIF output Cheked and on PCM and still no sound ... any idea what could be the problem by chance ??
CarvedInside05 Aug 2015 @ 15:38
Can you tell which of the advices helped you with the problem with music passing through skype?
For your problem with optical output. Maybe you haven't install the drivers properly. In the UNi Xonar driver installer make sure to select your card and if you are asked to restart do not do it. Restart is optional but you have to do it after you've closed UNi Xonar installer.
uk_uk31 Jul 2015 @ 09:34
Had a problem with stuttering (yt)-sound on Chrome. Contacted the support @ Asus... got this respond:
Thereβs no Win 10 for U1, D2, D2X either. The models [...] will not support Win 10.
Danny Damsky01 Aug 2015 @ 16:02
Wait a minute...Did they say anything about the DG/DGX? Is that model still supported? Seeing as ASUS is discontinuing support to their older cards (even though the D2 is not so old actually, not sure about the U1) made me realize that my next purchase will NOT be ASUS.
Ryth01 Aug 2015 @ 16:52
Are you sure they weren't just saying that because it doesn't currently have support for Win10? Or did their tone imply they will NEVER release drivers for it?
Tampa31 Jul 2015 @ 16:11
I have a d2/pm with windows 10, official driver's install but in audio center all drop down boxes are blank and I have no sound, but uni drivers do work somewhat, my problem is and maybe someone can help me is when I select s/pdif passthrough it lock's on to whatever bitrate is selected in the drop down, so if a 44.1 track is playing and I have 192 in the drop down selected all tracks play at 192 It doesn't it doesn't pass it through to foobar. Is there a trick I'm missing or just the drivers need updating?
Tampa01 Aug 2015 @ 15:45
Problem fixed, when installing the uni drivers at the very beginning I had to select d2 in the drop down. Now it shows up as digital output instead of s/pdif but it does PASSTHROUGH (coax sounds way better than usb through this card) to my external dac and now I'm back to glorious music. Thank you for the great drivers and saving me some dough. donation inbound.
CarvedInside01 Aug 2015 @ 20:45
Thanks for sharing with us what the problem was. I appreciate the donation.
bob doe01 Aug 2015 @ 06:46
I have a Xonar Essence STX. Which download do I need to install? I only see Xonar and Xonar STX II. Thanks!
CarvedInside01 Aug 2015 @ 20:52
1.75a. Both will work, but 1.75b require for you to enable Test Mode.
Dan01 Aug 2015 @ 11:11
I Tried the drivers but when i plus my headphones in it don't switch to front pan, its the reason why I tried them because on the default drivers off asus they switch when i plug headphones in but when i unplug it sets my speaks to headphones instead of 2 speaker setup.
Alex01 Aug 2015 @ 13:09
Skype still crashing with my Xonar DSX when I'm shuting down W8.1 or Windows 10 π
CarvedInside01 Aug 2015 @ 20:59
According to todo1 you need to disable the skype autostartup, and create a scheduled task to run skype on system startup with high privileges.
Danny Damsky01 Aug 2015 @ 22:04
When're you gonna release a new driver? Just wondering, since it has been almost a year since the last driver.
Evris01 Aug 2015 @ 21:35
I have the Xonar D2/PM and in Windows 10 x64 everything seems fine except from Chrome. Sound in Chrome is not working good. It stutters and it's choppy making scratch sounds. In Edge there is no problem though. I wonder if this can be fixed. They should support Windows 10 as it's a free upgrade for 7 and 8/8.1 which means everyone will jump sooner or later to 10.
Pavel02 Aug 2015 @ 02:58
In windows sound properties, set default sampling rate to 48Khz it will fix all sound issues.
Daniel01 Aug 2015 @ 23:44
When I install these drivers they work perfect but i am having a quite major problem, when I plug my headphones in won't switch to the front jack input I have to change it in the options every time I want to use the headphones. I Tried using the tools on here to fix it, but all they did was switch it every time I clicked them not any better then having to change manually.
CarvedInside02 Aug 2015 @ 01:03
Tell me your OS, Xonar card and UNi Xonar driver version that you've tried.
Daniel03 Aug 2015 @ 10:45
Hi I am using windows 10 64 home, I have DSX 7.1, the drivers I tried are UNi Xonar 1816/1822 v1.75a r2 and UNi Xonar STX II 11.5 v1.75b r2.
Ronald Kluge02 Aug 2015 @ 02:08
I have no DTS Sound with Xonar D2 on Windows 10 (UNi Xonar 1816/1822 v1.75a r2)
there is a solution?
CarvedInside05 Aug 2015 @ 15:40
Maybe you haven't install the drivers properly and that's what is causing the problem. In the UNi Xonar driver installer make sure to select your card and if you are asked to restart do not do it. Restart is optional but you have to do it after you've closed UNi Xonar installer.
themaster02 Aug 2015 @ 03:36
Getting a high DPC latency after upgrading to Windows 10 with my Xonar Essence STX. It's coming from the Xonar driver itself (cmudaxp.sys) with the highest latency far beyond everything else with a 1.12 ms execution. Tried reinstalling the Uni Xonar drivers and performing a driver cleaning with no change. Are we stuck with such a massive latency until Cmedia/Asus get their act together?
....such premium support for such premium hardware /s.
psychok902 Aug 2015 @ 05:59
I'm using Windows 10 + last UNI Xonar drivers (X-Meridian 7.1 chip C-media 8788).
It seems working good.
p.s. I saw Windows 10 drivers on Essence_STX_II Asus Support site.
CarvedInside05 Aug 2015 @ 15:42
Thanks for the feedback.
Unfortunately those drivers are the same as those 1.75b.

About the sound stuttering for Google Chrome, adding this switch to chrome fixed it "--audio-buffer-size=2048"
Credit to these guys: https://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport/comments/3ffhkz/choppy_audio_in_google_chrome_after_upgrading_to/
Evris02 Aug 2015 @ 12:08
This is not fixing the problem. I've done this with both 2040 and 4096 parameters. π
Evris02 Aug 2015 @ 13:05
Edge and Firefox have no problem it's just Chrome that has the problem with sound. Maybe it's Google's problem to fix it and update Chrome for Windows 10.
mzso02 Aug 2015 @ 12:14
I upgraded to windows 10 and horror struck. I get constant clicking and occasional stuttering while listening to music in foobar.
It's massively irritating, and renders music listening unenjoyable.
It's somehow related to resource usage because when I'm browsing it gets really worse but if I close firefox it's a lot better. And it's not just CPU usage it seem, because it happens constantly even when the cpu usage is low.
mzso02 Aug 2015 @ 16:55
It was recommended I use LatencyMon. I got not too encouraging results:

Can't really tell what's wrong though.
